Your OS recognizes the iPhone in the same way as a digital camera and can copy images from it in the same way as from a memory card.

And it's done like this on a Mac:

  • After establishing a connection with a cable and after 5 seconds, as a rule, the standard application "Image Capture" automatically starts. If this does not happen, it can be opened manually (located in the program section);
  • All images will be presented in the opened window of this utility. At the same time, copying them is quite simple: you need to select the ones you need and transfer them to a specific folder.

On Windows it's a little different:

  • We connect the gadget to the computer. Literally after 5 seconds you will see a pop-up autoload window on the screen. If this does not happen, then you need to go to "My Computer" and open the iPhone as a Portable device (for the seventh Windows) or as a camera if you have WinXP;
  • Next, open the storage of the iPhone itself, after which we go to the DCIM folder. Its contents are, as a rule, two or three folders containing photos and video files;
  • We find our photos and copy those that need to be uploaded to the computer;
  • We paste it into a folder previously created on the PC. When you have finished importing files, you can unplug the cord from your computer.

Note. When you connect your iPhone to your computer for the first time, a message will appear on the iPhone screen asking you "Do you trust this device?" Of course, if you want to transfer photos, then you need to select the "trust" item.

If you still can't import photos to your computer, or if your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch as a camera, follow these steps.

Transfer images via iCloud

Check if you can use iCloud Photo Library or My Photo Stream

If you turned on iCloud Photo Library on your Mac and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, your photos might already be on your computer.

You can go to iCloud.com and open the Photos app to browse your entire library and select photos to import. If you haven't turned on iCloud Photo Library, try accessing photos on your computer using My photostream.

If you're not using iCloud Photo Library or My Photo Stream, try the following steps.

  • Check connections and update software.
  • Try importing photos using a different Apple USB cable.
  • If the import still fails, update the software.
  • Download the latest version of iTunes.
  • Try to import photos again.

How to transfer photos from iPhone to computer via wifi?

Along with the wired connection, photos can also be transferred wirelessly. You will need to sync over Wi-Fi before starting the transfer.

From a computer First you need to connect the device with a cable and open iTunes. In the left part of the window, in the "Devices" block, you must select the iPhone or iPad for synchronization. In the "Overview" tab in the "Parameters" block, you will need to put a checkbox opposite "Sync. devices over Wi-Fi. Now the gadget will automatically sync when it is on the same network as the computer on which iTunes is installed.

From phone synchronization can be started through the device settings. To do this, in the "Basic" menu, you will need to select the item "Synchronization with iTunes over Wi-Fi". The presence of synchronization is indicated by the icon in the tray of the phone. The device now appears as connected. Therefore, all actions on it can be performed in the same way as when connected using a conventional cable - twisted pair.

Try another computer

If the camera does not appear in Device Manager, check if your iOS device is working properly by connecting it to another computer. If your iOS device is recognized as a camera on another computer, contact Microsoft or another Windows support service on your computer for assistance.

Apple iOS 7 does not trust my computer. Problems when transferring photos from iPhone

There is a cruel way if all attempts to enter a password have been exhausted and there is no computer that your iphone would "trust".

  1. Connect your iPhone to your computer using the USB cable that comes with the standard kit.
  2. Among all the devices, the Apple iPhone will appear, the personal computer will recognize it as a digital camera.
  3. To access the Lockdown folder, launch the Finder program in Mac OS. In other operating systems, calling the trust window on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch is also done by clearing the Lockdown folder on the computer.
  4. After "trust" on the computer, itunes sees the iPhone.
  5. You must wait for the computer to detect the digital camera. Then you need to go into the device, select the photos, copy them to the clipboard and move them to a folder on the computer. Using iTunes, you can transfer not only photos to your computer, but also music, ringtones, videos, and more. First you need to connect your iPhone to your computer with a USD cable. When your computer beeps that it has found a new device, open iTunes.
  6. If email is set up on the iPhone, then photos can be sent via e-mail, and then transferred to a computer. You can transfer photos without connecting a USB cable to your computer; this can be easily done through the shared folder of the Yandex.Disk cloud service.

Import photos using cloud services

An excellent alternative to the second method, because by using auxiliary cloud services, you can quickly transfer a large number of photos from iPhone to computer. To do this, you need a good Internet connection, as well as the presence of a registered account in one or more services: Yandex.Disk, drop box, Cloud Mail.Ru. With a small number of images, even email will do.

The algorithm of actions is very simple:

  • transfer photos from your iPhone to a file sharing service;
  • then download the downloaded files from the file sharing service, but only through the computer.

As you can see, copying photos from an iPhone to a computer is absolutely easy. Once you get your hands dirty, you can transfer your footage in less than 5 minutes.

Unfortunately, the interaction of the phone with the PC does not always go smoothly. Some users are faced with the fact that the computer does not recognize the iPhone via USB and does not respond to the connection.

The reason may lie in several factors. To figure out why the computer does not see the iPhone via USB, a list of the most common problems and how to fix them will help. We will tell about them now.

1. Lack of necessary drivers

Most often, the computer does not find the iPhone due to the lack of drivers or their conflict with the operating system. To fix the problem, you will need:

  1. Right-click on " My computer"And select the line" Properties";
  2. Go to section " Device Manager» in the left menu;
  3. Find the Apple Mobile Device driver in the USB Controllers group, right-click on it and select Uninstall;
  4. Agree to be removed by the driver and click "OK";
  5. Download Apple Universal Driver, install it;
  6. Reconnect the device to the computer to update the configuration.

2. Blocking access to the driver

Antivirus programs may see malware in the downloaded Apple driver. Troubleshoot in the following order:

  1. Temporarily disable antivirus;
  2. Disconnect the device from the PC, then reconnect;
  3. Press the key combination "Win" and "R" Call up the window "Run";
  4. Paste the path into the active line:% ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers and click OK;
  5. Right-click on the file usbaapl64.inf (on Windows x64 versions) or usbaapl.inf (on x86 versions), select the line "Install";
  6. Disconnect smartphone, restart PC and re-insert USB.

3. iTunes settings failure

Apple's proprietary program is simply indispensable for owners of "apple" devices. It helps not only manage your smartphone, but also install drivers the first time you connect it. iTunes problems occur in several cases: when updating Windows, when restoring the OS, and also when cleaning the system disk. The problem is solved by reinstalling the program from the official site.

4. iPhone failure to communicate with PC

Each time you connect to a new computer, the Smartphone screen displays the “ Trust this computer". To give a PC access to an iPhone, you need to unlock it and click " Trust». If a negative option was previously selected, and the PC does not see the iPhone via USB, you should restart the device and connect it again.

5. Technical malfunctions

This category covers three main problems: problems with the USB cable, broken USB connectors on a computer, and microUSB on a smartphone. The first problem can be solved by visiting any electronics store and buying a new wire. Only technical specialists of service centers can cope with other malfunctions.

Problems with iPhone recognition can occur on a personal computer for various reasons. It is problematic to accurately determine the nature of the malfunction, so you should comprehensively examine the smartphone and check it for each of the problems indicated above.

Stylish, fashionable, comfortable… you can continue to write enthusiastic odes about the iPhone and praise its creators. But what to do when the computer does not see the iPhone? Many of its owners find it difficult to answer this question. Well, it's time to list some possible causes and ways to fix them yourself.

1. First, the smartphone must be connected to the computer using a USB cable. If the PC does not detect a new device, and the connection alert does not appear on the iPhone screen, it is worth looking for a problem in the cord itself. Using non-original cords can cause your computer to become "blind" to your iPhone. Make sure the USB port is working: to check, insert a working USB flash drive into it. Carefully inspect the smartphone and PC connectors, they may not have been used for a long time, and they have oxidized.

2. Most iPhone owners do not really care about their “ward” and carry it in their jeans pocket or in their purse, which is full of the smallest garbage. Over time, small particles clog all available recesses and holes, thereby causing a lot of trouble. Carefully inspect the phone connector, or better, immediately take a thin brush and do a general cleaning of the entire body of your iPhone.

3. It may be that iTunes crashed, and therefore the smartphone was no longer detected by the computer. You can try to completely remove the software and install a more recent version, or vice versa, install the previous version, don't forget to back up your iTunes Media folder, otherwise you may lose your settings and music.

Problems requiring professional help

1. Moisture in the iPhone can not only cause the inability to connect to the computer, but also provoke more serious problems caused by micro-circuits in the device. In this case, you must immediately turn off the smartphone (preferably immediately after getting wet) and as a first aid, you need to put your iPhone in a bag of rice, it absorbs moisture well (“sucks” it out of your device). But in the future, we recommend that you contact the service center.

2. A firmware glitch in an unimaginable way can affect the operation of a mobile device. If you consider that your computer does not see the iPhone, then it is better to take it to a service center, where you will be returned to the previous settings by rolling back. Or you can follow one of the instructions for flashing an iPhone.

No matter how good and autonomous the iPhone would be, without using a computer it is not possible to work and make full use of all its vast functionality. In principle, it is understandable why. Since downloading a lot of updates or annual new versions of iOS (which are often very voluminous) is long and troublesome.

The use of "cloud" resources, which is strongly promoted by the manufacturer, is not always convenient. All processes proceed in them much more slowly. There is not always a connection and access to the network. And as practice shows - they are not entirely reliable - account hacking, with data theft, has become more frequent.

So the computer is still the main place where the iPhone draws the most “heavy” information. Yes, and through the manual of the proprietary iTunes, a good half of all user operations are performed.

In general, the procedure is usually extremely simple - connect your iPhone to a computer, authorize it from your smartphone and make it trusted, and that's it - you can work. But sometimes, for some reason, various kinds of problems arise, and the computer stubbornly does not see iPhone.

Causes of failures and how to deal with them

The first possible reason is cable problems. Be sure to use the proprietary Lightning. Check if both ports are dirty - in the PC and smartphone, then use another, but again, the original wire. This is important - since some cables from other manufacturers can only recharge the device, and they simply do not support the data transfer function.

In case changing the cable and cleaning the ports did not help, make sure that your iTunes is updated to the latest version. It does not hurt to update the accompanying software and the computer itself, as update conflicts can provoke errors.

Reboot both devices. Connect again with the cable (this time you can insert it into another usb port on the PC to eliminate, at the same time, the possibility of any one of them failing).

Also, it will be useful (to rule out problems with an authorized computer) to repeat the procedure on another device.

Sometimes, the presence of previously installed software for smartphones from other manufacturers on a PC can also prevent iTunes from working correctly. Uninstall them, reinstall iTunes, check if the problem is solved.

Another of the software reasons why the iPhone remains “invisible” is that computer security systems and antiviruses block automatic connection of iTunes to Apple servers as a suspicious process. Again, update all relevant applications. Temporarily disable or delete them, and try connecting your iPhone to your PC again.

Also, it will be useful (to rule out problems with an authorized computer) to repeat the procedure on another device. Maybe the problem is not in the iPhone at all.

Have problems remained? Digging deeper!

If, after carrying out all the above manipulations, the computer still does not see the iPhone, you will have to resort to methods for more advanced users.

When you see such windows, and for some reason errors are displayed, it means that there are problems with the Apple Mobile Device service, which is responsible for the correct operation of iOS devices. Then you have to restart it - often this is enough to solve the problem.

Before that, turn off iTunes and disconnect your smartphone. Then, based on the version of your OS, produce:

- For Windows - In the start, in the context menu - "Run" type services.msc. Find in the list Apple Mobile Device and stop this service by selecting the appropriate tab on the left. After stopping, restart the process - in the same window. Connect the device, run ituned - everything should work.

If the restart did not help, you must completely remove all components and reinstall AMD and the latest version of iTunes. For more information on how to do this correctly, you can see in the manufacturer's explanations.

- In case of problems with a Mac-based CP, the algorithm of actions will be as follows:

Add to cart at Finder the following elements:

1. the iTunes installation folder with all the contents, as well as its shortcut from the launchpad;

2. files: AppleMobileDevice.kext and AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg. The path to them: from Finder - to the System, then - to Libraries and, for the first - to Extension, for the second - to Receipts.

After restarting the computer, empty the entire contents of the trash and restart the system again. After reinstalling the new version of iTunes, the issue should be resolved.

In some cases, resetting the Lockdown folder in the PC menu helps.

- On Windows - select find - %ProgramData% - from the start menu. After opening the Apple folder, find the Lockdown folder stored in it and delete it. Be sure to restart both the PC and the iPhone after that, otherwise, when you start iTunes, it will always give an error.

- On Macintosh - through the Finder, go to the folder, type in the following combination - /var/db/lockdown. Then, from the "View" menu, go to - Icons, while - in the Finder window, you will see files with names consisting of a set of letters and numbers.

Now select everything by going to the menu - Edit - in the Finder. Then in - File - click - Move to Trash. Only the contents of the Lockdown folder should be deleted, it itself should remain - only empty.

Device problem

If the above actions did not lead to success, then most likely there is a hardware problem in the device itself. The connector cable or power microcircuit could fail, or the printed circuit board tracks, etc. were damaged due to various mechanical factors. breakdowns. Then only repair will save. And only the master, after diagnosing, will tell you why this or that problem occurs. We do not recommend disassembling the iPhone with your own hands - it can turn out to be more expensive for yourself. Yes, and warranty service for devices opened in non-certified centers does not apply.

Hello!

After I wrote a few tutorials about the iPhone, I began to get asked the following question more and more often: Sergey why the computer does not see the iPhone. It's one thing when you were asked about it once, and another thing when this question comes up regularly! I decided to deal with this issue and as it turned out, the reasons for this can be very different and, of course, the approach to solving this problem can also differ.

I have collected 10 tips that I want to tell you about here. Let's get down to business right away!

Reinstall USB drivers

One proven way to fix this problem is to reinstall iPhone USB drivers. We need through Device Manager uninstall them and then reinstall them.

First of all, connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB cable. Next, go to the Properties section of the Computer and open Device Manager.

In the window that opens, find the USB Controllers section or it may also be the Portable devices. Open it and look for Apple Mobile Device USB. You need to right-click on it and select Delete.

In the confirmation box, check the box " Uninstall driver programs for this device" and click OK.

Old, bad, unnecessary driver will be removed!

Now unplug your iPhone USB cable from your computer and plug it back in. The driver will be reinstalled, as indicated by the following window:

Also on the iPhone, we should be asked for permission to give the computer access to photos and videos. Naturally click Allow.

In most cases, when the computer does not see the iPhone, this method will solve the problem. But if that doesn't work for you, then let's try other tips!

Update chipset drivers (USB)

Every computer has a motherboard, and chipsets are installed on it. So these chipsets are responsible for connecting various devices to the computer. Chipsets also need drivers to work properly. In some cases, drivers start to work unstable. Most often this can happen if from some.

It happens that the computer not only does not see the iPhone, it cannot detect any other phones or flash drives at all. I just had this on my old Windows. Updated chipset drivers helped.

What to do in this situation?

First option. First, open the site http://devid.info/ru and click on the green button Download to download the DevID agend program for quick installation and updating of drivers.

When installing, uncheck the boxes so as not to install too much.

After starting the program, you can click Start Search and the program will scan the hardware and offer to update old drivers.

It's good if there is a fresh version of the driver for the chipset. In this case, it will be updated. But if not, then try the following steps.

1.2 Download and install chipset

The second option is to download the drivers yourself and install them. Depending on your motherboard, it may be an intel chipset or an amd chipset. Consider the installation on the example of chipsets from intel.

On the official website of Intel, here at this link: https://downloadcenter.intel.com you can download the program for chipsets. Press the blue Chipset button.

1.3 Auto-selection of Intel drivers

Third option. You can also make it so that Intel themselves select the drivers we need for our system. To do this, they have a special utility on their website that will scan our equipment and install the necessary programs.

Click "Trust Computer"

Please note that when we connect our phone to the computer, a request appears on the screen where we must allow access to settings and data. Just click Trust.

Connect to a different USB socket

Try changing the USB port. Especially if you insert the cable from the iPhone to the connectors on the front panel of the system unit. Try plugging the cable into one of those connectors on the back of the system unit. These connectors are directly soldered to the motherboard and they work as cool as possible!

Reinstall iTunes

I hope you know that in order to fully manage your iPhone on a computer, we need iTunes for Windows. If it does not work for you, then you need to reinstall it. Or you can just update.

Download the latest version and install over the old one. The program will be updated.

Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service

Before following this step, be sure to disconnect your iPhone from your computer and close iTunes. Now we need to restart Apple services. Because you never know, suddenly they are stupid.

Open the search bar by pressing the WIN + Q hotkeys and enter Services in the search bar.

We launch the found program and find the service Apple Mobile Device Service. Open it with a double click.

We stop the service.

Now you need to make sure that the startup type is Automatic and then restart this service.

Open the computer section and find the iPhone

After updating iTunes and restarting the Apple service, the computer should now definitely see the iPhone. Open the Computer section and find the phone here.

In my case, it is at the very top, but yours may be at the bottom. Be careful, suddenly the computer sees the iPhone, and you just don't pay attention to it here!

Connect iPhone to another computer

If you connect your iPhone to another computer, you can immediately understand where to dig next. If another computer sees the iPhone, then the problem is most likely on the side of your computer, which does not see the phone. If other computers or laptops do not see the iPhone, then there is certainly something with the USB cable or with the phone itself! For reliability, I would connect the phone to two different computers that have different systems.

Breaking

If none of the above methods solved the problem and the laptop or computer still does not see the iPhone, then something has broken in the device itself. I think that just the power connector into which the cable is inserted simply failed.

Try, test and I hope you succeed.
