Alternatives to iTunes. Syncios is a decent free alternative to iTunes

Surely every iTunes user has wondered at least once in his life whether there is any alternative to iTunes, a kind of substitute. We will delight you, there are a huge number of applications on the network that can compete with this program, the best of which we will consider in this article.

There may be several reasons for changing the music download application. You may not like the program's interface, or maybe at some time in the past you simply did not like it.

iTools is an analogue of iTunes. The program is considered one of the most stable, it looks very simple, the interface is very user-friendly, of course it is not very pleased with its functionality, but it works very quickly. Unfortunately, the developers did not equip it with Russian-language localization. The application is configured to automatically update; it will automatically update to the required iOS version.

If you decide to install it on your gadget, the program will turn off the iTunes application and give you a proposal for connecting your gadget, this allows you to simplify all the operations that you have to perform.

The great thing about this program is that you get a huge amount of information. You will have access to such functions as identifying the number and country of manufacturer, making all kinds of backups of various applications, and gaining expanded access to the program without jailbreaking.

You will also have the opportunity to clear the gadget’s memory, view application logs and change the home screen.

iFun Box

This application is very convenient; in terms of its functionality, it can execute structural commands not only of certain applications, as in usual cases with similar programs, but also of various files, you can also structure folders, which is a very convenient function in work.

Another important feature of iFun is the ability to copy all kinds of files, both from a computer to a phone, and from a phone to a computer, while the program automatically assigns the necessary “rights” for this. In general, we consider this product as a good substitute for iTunes.

Disk Aid

The most important feature of this program is the ability to connect to this application via Wi-Fi. The simplest file manager that works together with iTunes, after installing it you will get unlimited access to system files. The application itself was created to work with music and video files.

Unfortunately, the program cannot independently make changes to system files. A distinctive feature of this application is that with its help you can create a regular flash drive from the iOS operating system and your computer will see the whole thing as a disk drive.

Let us repeat, the most important advantage of this application is that you can work with it via Wi-Fi.

Copy Trans

The wide functionality of this application will amaze even an experienced user, but its interface is made in a very simple design. The application includes a huge number of settings for managing various modules, which are responsible for all kinds of resources for managing your gadget.

Any of the modules provides the ability to manage, for example, if you select a module that includes an address book, you will be able to perform actions such as copy backup files from your contacts, import and export contacts to email, remotely delete or copy contacts .

The most important feature of this application is that it has built-in modules. You will no longer need to have a huge number of different programs; it will be enough to install one suitable module, of which there are a huge number.

MacFon Trans

A good and very easy to use file manager. By installing it on your device, you can easily back up not only all audio and video files, but also work with contacts, that is, with the entire address book. You can download various media files by bypassing iTunes.

The most important advantage of this program is that if you download any file that is not supported by the iOS operating system, the application will automatically change it to the file that your phone or tablet needs.

Unfortunately, this program is not free and a subscription to it costs twenty-seven dollars and ninety-six cents per month.

iMazing

The program is in no way behind the MacFon discussed above; in it you will also get full access to all content, as well as to the entire file system, even taking into account iCloud storage.

In conclusion, I would like to add that there is a huge number of different programs and applications that can replace iTunes.

Why do we love our iPhone? Of course, because this device is capable of a lot: music, podcasts, movies, photos, news, surfing the Internet and, of course, applications. All the most relevant and interesting things are in your pocket. However, to manage all this media, you will also need a special media processor from Apple - iTunes. Undoubtedly, it is good in many respects, with the possible exception of its beginner-friendly interface. Many simply do not have the strength (or desire?) to master such a sophisticated product. And then other “players” come into play and help manage your media library on your iOS device.

iFunBox

Probably the most popular client for Mac and Windows. It can import and export music, movies, books, install applications or perform operations with files as is customary in older systems - by dragging content into the utility window.
As a bonus, the latest version of iFunBox has learned to install and update applications, as well as automatically download those that were added to the wishlist and began to be distributed for free. The last one, I must say, is a great idea! Many people list various software and games on AppZapp, but, unfortunately, it doesn’t know how to download them during discounts. iFunBox is simply irreplaceable in this regard. Unfortunately, all this is only relevant for the Windows version.

iTools

Another very popular utility for Windows, Mac and even iOS (the latter requires jailbreak) straight from Hong Kong. It can do a little less than the previous representative, but for those who download music and videos to their iOS device, it should be more than enough. It is not burdened with unnecessary functionality and does not have a cumbersome interface. Like iFunBox, it can use your iPhone as a removable storage device, which is very necessary for people who have recently switched from Android smartphones. Perhaps the most optimal utility of all that are available for OS X.

What similar applications do you use? Perhaps your option is suitable for newcomers to the world of Apple. Share your names in the comments!

Every Apple user has come across iTunes at least once in their life - a program that allows you to transfer music and movies to your iPhone, iPad or iPod, create backups, reflash the device, install applications and transfer data to them. And everything would be fine, but there are many restrictions in iTunes - you can synchronize music with only one PC, only the latest version of the software is automatically downloaded, and the program itself does not work very quickly. At the same time, it does not have quite important “buns” - for example, the ability to find out battery wear.

Of course, quite quickly a lot of iTunes replacement programs appeared: iTools, iFunBox, iBackupBot, 25pp and many others: they allowed you to transfer music and movies in a couple of clicks from any PC, showed battery wear, could make backups and even install hacked versions of applications. However, they all had a rather important problem - they did not allow you to flash your device, that is, iTunes still had to remain on the PC (just in case, as they say). But times are changing, and groups of people have appeared who were able to reverse engineer iTunes, that is, “gut” the program, understand how it works, and write an analogue that will be indistinguishable from the original iTunes both for the device itself and for Apple servers. which allows such programs to flash an iPhone or iPad.

There were two such programs - 3uTools and iMazing. They have similar functionality, but there are still differences, so let's talk about them separately, and let's start with the second program, the developers of which still have some style.

iMazing - beautiful, in Russian, but paid

You can download the trial version of the program absolutely free on the official website, however, even at the first launch, the program will warn that the greedy developers also want to eat, and the trial version has enough restrictions - for example, you can transfer only 50 songs or 100 files for free:

Do you want to reflash? Pay. Want to restore from a backup? Pay again. Moreover, the price is by no means small - 40 dollars (2,400 rubles) for a single license - in general, the standard cost of a good program for macOS, only for Windows the cost is the same, which, to put it mildly, is shocking:

It’s somewhat pleasing that for educational institutions there is a 30% discount, also an update from the first version of the program does not cost the full price, but “only” 50%, in addition, those who bought the first version of the program after March 13, 2016 receive an update and completely free. For those who are interested in the illegal side of the issue, alas, there is no hack for the latest version for Windows yet (however, if you wish, you can download the previous one, which also works with iOS 11 and can be hacked).

But let’s move on to the more interesting part - the program’s capabilities. And the first thing you should pay attention to is that it is completely and correctly Russified. Now let’s turn our attention to the main table of the program, where all its considerable capabilities are shown:

Let's go from right to left (it's more convenient). First comes information about the device - a screenshot of the real desktop, device name, iOS version, availability of backups on your PC and in iCloud, and below is the phone number. At the very bottom there is an interactive scale that shows what the space is occupied by. So far there are no differences with iTunes, the information is all the same. But then the program’s capabilities greatly increase - firstly, when you click on the battery icon, all information about it is shown:

Secondly, when you click on the i icon to the right of the device data, the most detailed information about it will open - IMEI, serial number, iBoot version, operator, exact model, UDID and much more, and the data can be exported to a TXT file:

Here the program is already seriously ahead of iTunes in terms of capabilities, where there is no information about the battery at all, and you can only find out about the device the serial number and UDID.

We go a little further to the left, and we see the capabilities already familiar to users of the same iTools, although they are more advanced.

  • Files - applications are displayed here in which you can upload and download data.
  • Camera and Photos - here you can view and import photos and videos.
  • Music - you can copy songs, podcasts, playlists and albums to and from the device.
  • Video - similar to music: working with video files that will be visible in the standard Video application.
  • iBooks - transfer PDF to standard iOS reader.
  • Messages is a rather interesting feature: iMazing can retrieve correspondence from a backup copy and display it as if it were an iMessage. Moreover, it can be exported as PDF, TXT or CSV:

  • Phone - similarly with messages, you can extract the history of calls and answering machine from the backup copy.
  • Contacts - displays contacts with avatars and all phone numbers, both saved in iCloud and local.
  • Notes - displays all notes, not only those that are displayed on the device, but also deleted ones, which Apple still stores on its servers.
  • Voice recorder - you can listen to and export recordings.
  • Applications - a list of all installed applications, however, due to an Apple limitation, starting with iOS 8.3, data is not shown in them.
  • File system - access to some part of system files:

You will probably say that this program does not open up anything particularly new - most of the functions are in iTools. However, as I wrote above, this is a full-fledged replacement for iTunes - on the first screen of the program there is a “Reinstall iOS” button, moreover, it recognizes devices entered in DFU:

However, here the program's capabilities only completely copy iTunes - you can either download the latest signed OS from Apple's servers, or install the firmware from a previously downloaded file.

Since the program only emulates iTunes, it requires Apple Mobile Device Services to work. The developers took into account that not everyone is comfortable searching for them on the Internet, so they can be downloaded directly from the program settings:

This completes the brief overview of the program, it’s time to move on to the pros and cons.

  • Beautiful interface with support for scaling in Windows and completely in Russian.
  • Extremely detailed information about the device and its battery.
  • Ability to view contacts, notes and messages.
  • Possibility to reflash the device.
Cons:
  • Price - the program costs $40.
  • There is no way to download any of the signed firmware for the device - only the latest one.
  • Intrusive offers to buy the full version of the program and rather limited trial options.
But not just iMazing - there is a program on the Internet with similar functionality, 3uTools - we’ll consider it.

3uTools - functional, in English, but free

The program is available absolutely free of charge on the official website, moreover, the developer is friendly and helps quite quickly and intelligently by email. Alas, for Russian-speaking users there is one problem - the program is in English, and there is no Russification.

Let's see what the main program window looks like:

As you can see, all the basic information about the device and its storage device with battery is shown here - even in more detail than in iMazing and especially iTunes. However, if we go to iDevice Details, then the set of information here will be more modest than in iMazing - for example, there is no iBoot version. On the other hand, who needs it on modern versions of iOS - this information is more than enough for the average user, but still there is a small plus on the side of the paid analogue.

It is also worth paying attention to one interesting possibility - to stop updating iOS: this is perfect for those who are satisfied with their current OS, and are already tired of constant notifications in the style of “well, install, install, install.” Of course, iTunes doesn’t have this, but what’s bad is that iMazing doesn’t have it either.

There is no point in listing the possibilities for transferring files - here all iTunes analogues have the same capabilities: you can transfer music, photos, videos, program data and books. However, it is worth noting that 3uTools does not show information about messages and notes, and to view contacts, you need to disable copying them to iCloud - a rather serious disadvantage compared to iMazing.

But what is worth noting separately is the firmware capabilities: the program allows you to download and flash all software versions available for your device, including beta versions:

It remains to sum up the results of this program.

Pros:

  • Completely free.
  • The ability to quickly and easily transfer files and data to and from your device.
  • The ability to reflash the device to any of the signed firmware, and you can download it directly from the program.
  • Ability to stop iOS updates.
  • Quite detailed information about the device and battery.
Cons:
  • A fairly simple interface without Russian language.
  • There is no way to view messages and notes, problems with viewing contacts.
  • Not all device information is available.
As a result, we get two excellent iTunes analogues, both of which have their pros and cons. It's up to you to decide what's better and whether it's worth paying $40 for iMazing.

Many people note that using iTunes to interact with iOS devices is not very convenient. After all, the transfer of any data is carried out in several stages, through synchronization. And sometimes I would like to bypass this stage. In such cases, iTunes analogues will help.

Replacements for iTunes

There are quite a few replacements for this computer program. But the article will talk about three of them: iFunBox, iTools, CopyTrans. They are considered one of the best. Each user will find the best software for their own purposes.

iFunBox

iFunbox is the most famous and functional analogue of iTunes for Windows. It makes it very convenient to move music, videos, photos and other data in both directions. Another interesting feature is installing applications from ipa files.

iTools

An equally well-known program that offers similar functions is iTools. Just connect your iPhone to your PC, then it will appear in new devices. You can immediately transfer any supported files. An interesting feature worth noting is the synchronization of books and contacts. There is also an application manager.

CopyTrans

The first thing that catches your eye when using CopyTrans is the appearance of the program. It has a fairly attractive interface, with intuitive placement of elements. It is paid, but there is a trial period.

The application has a "smart restart" function
reservation." If you activate it, the specified data from the iPhone will be automatically saved on the computer. But you can call it manually.

Among the disadvantages, it is worth noting the limitation of one hundred operations. If they are exhausted, then further use of the program will be possible only if they are purchased. But the limit can be expanded if you repost it on one of the social networks (Facebook and Twitter).

Many owners of Apple smartphones and tablets still cannot get used to the proprietary data synchronization tool. Indeed, despite the huge number of useful things, iTunes is quite difficult to master. Especially new users. In this article, we'll tell you about three programs that you can use to sync content between your iPhone and iPad.

The most famous iTunes substitute. It can work with both the regular version of the firmware and a jailbroken iPhone. Can synchronize music, videos, books, install applications and games, and perform various operations with files. To copy data, you just need to drag it into the program window. Just like with a regular flash drive. A nice bonus: iFunBox has wish list. You add paid programs and games there that you want for yourself. As soon as these applications start being distributed for free, the utility will download them and install them on your gadget the next time you connect.

Download iFunBox from the official website (free)

A powerful and advanced program for managing your iPhone or iPad. In addition to standard features (content synchronization, working with files), iMazing can create backups gadgets, work with your phone book and messages, and can clone the contents of your phone to a new device. The program connects to a smartphone via USB or wi-fi.

Download iMazing from the official website ( $30 , 14 days trial mode)

iTools

The simplest and most convenient utility for downloading content to your device. Can add music, videos, ringtones, books, and photos to your device. There is no additional functionality. The best choice for the undemanding user. In addition, the application is absolutely free.
