How is an iPhone different from a smartphone? Which gadget is better? Difference between a smartphone and an iPhone: characteristic features.

Smartphone or iPhone, what to choose? This question often arises among people who find themselves choosing a mobile device. To answer this you need to clearly know what these two devices are.

Smartphone

A smartphone is a smarter mobile phone. If using a mobile phone you can only make calls, write SMS, listen to music and do a couple more things, for example, set an alarm clock or calculate something on a calculator, then a smartphone opens up broader prospects for the user.

Modern smartphones have either touch input or the ability to combine it with a full slide-out keyboard. Accordingly, using a smartphone, you can go online, do some work, type text, watch a movie, play a game and do many other useful and not so useful things. All modern smartphones have quite impressive characteristics. For example, the processors in many devices have from 2 to 8 cores, which is not always possible to see in a laptop, for which 2 cores are still considered normal. RAM in smartphones ranges from 1 to 3 gigabytes. Smartphones have large screens, relatively large amounts of memory, and with their help you can take professional, high-quality photos and shoot videos.

In addition to all this, even the most inexpensive smartphone will allow the owner to use it throughout the day without recharging. All smartphones have their own operating system. Until recently, the most popular system was considered to be from the famous Google corporation, called Android. A few years ago, the world saw phones with the Windows operating system; this is not the first attempt to produce smartphones on this system, but probably the first one that was quite successful. In addition to these two systems, there are several less common and to some extent outdated systems - Bada from Samsung, Symbian from Nokia, BlackBerry OS from BlackBerry. Each of them has its own nuances, but we are not talking about them now.

iPhone

To put it quite simply, then iPhone is a smartphone from Apple with iOS operating system. That is, the iPhone differs from other smartphones only in its operating system. To some extent this is true, but if you dig deeper, you can find more differences. They won't be too significant, but they are there.

In addition to the operating system, which will be discussed later, Apple smartphones differ significantly in characteristics from their counterparts on other systems. If you compare the technical data of the top-end iPhone and the flagship models of other well-known manufacturers, you will notice that the latter are significantly superior to the former. The question arises why then it is difficult for some people to make a choice. The answer is that the iPhone offers a fundamentally different service and usability.

Even with their low specifications, all iPhone models work better and more stable than smartphones from other manufacturers. The secret lies in the fact that Apple has developed an operating system that does not require high device performance, but works much better. Freezes, errors or viruses are words that are not familiar to users of Apple products. All applications that are created for Apple technology undergo many tests before entering the application store and only after that they become available to users. On the one hand, such a control system makes the iPhone application store much smaller, but on the other hand, users can be sure that they receive only high-quality applications.

In addition to applications, the iPhone is synchronized with other devices in the house, be it iPad, iPod, MacBook. Other technology manufacturers also have synchronization of different devices, but only Apple has achieved a very high level of comfort. If you set up one account on all devices, then all data can be easily moved from one device to another.

Despite all the advantages, American technology also has its disadvantages. To be honest, it’s difficult to call them disadvantages, since this is rather a disadvantage for Russia, where people are accustomed to free content and the need to pay for books, music, applications or films seems wild. However, as stated above, the iPhone only supports native applications, which are mostly paid. This can be said about music as well as films. Yes, they can be downloaded for free from third-party sources, but the easiest way to do this is through the native iTunes store.

iPhone Pros:

  • Quality.
  • Reliability.
  • Work stability.
  • Convenience.
  • Stylish devices.
  • High price of equipment.
  • Inability to expand memory.
  • Poor synchronization with devices and operating systems of other companies.
  • Having to pay for apps and content.

Comparison of iPhone and smartphones

It is impossible to select one device from these two. If we talk about inexpensive smartphones, it is obvious that Apple’s technology is a cut above, but at the same time it is much more expensive. If we compare smartphones from famous manufacturers from the corresponding iPhone price segment, then they can argue. The fact is that the quality and ease of use will not be inferior to American smartphones, and in some cases even surpass them.

The iPhone is suitable for those people who can afford to spend a significant amount of money on technology and also appreciate a conservative, strict design. In addition, the iPhone is not suitable for lovers of bright things, because in all the years of production of these devices, there was only one model that had a bright body, while for the first and last time manufacturers moved away from their usual metal body towards plastic.

For those who do not consider themselves to be in the above category of people, it is best to stick to smartphones from well-known world brands. Surely they will appreciate the ease of use, as well as the very wide capabilities of these phones.

An interesting video comparison of one of the most powerful smartphones and an iPhone:

Generations and varieties of iPhone

Since the summer of 2007, when the first generation of iPhone was released, a lot of models and varieties of Apple smartphones have accumulated:

  • iPhone 2G (aluminum)
  • iPhone 3GS in two varieties - with old and new boot
  • iPhone 4 in three varieties - regular model, CDMA model and 2012 model
  • iPhone 5 in two versions - a model for America and a "global model"
  • iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max

The very first aluminum iPhone, unlike other generations. A characteristic difference is the large black plastic insert for the antennas in the lower part of the rear wall of the case. Although this generation has a name attached to it, it does not refer to the generation of the iPhone itself, but to the generation of the cellular networks in which it operates. The first iPhone supported only second generation networks (including GPRS and EDGE).

It has a completely plastic body in white or black. All inscriptions on the back wall are made with gray paint. The iPhone was named so due to the fact that it supported 3G cellular networks.

Externally, it almost completely replicates the appearance of the iPhone 3G, the only difference is that the inscriptions on the back wall are painted in exactly the same silver mirror paint as the Apple logo.

Old and new iPhone 3GS bootroms

From the point of view of the prospects for jailbreaking, there are two types - with the old bootrom and with the new bootrom. Butrom(bootrom) is a non-rewritable hardware bootloader of the device, and the prospects for jailbreaking largely depend on the presence of vulnerabilities in it. The difference between the old and new bootrom is evident to this day: for iPhone 3GS with old boot untethered jailbreak is guaranteed on any version of iOS, and for iPhone 3GS with new boot- only tethered (read about the difference between tethered and untethered jailbreak).

It is easy to distinguish an iPhone 3GS with a new boot by its serial number. It is necessary to take the third, fourth and fifth of its digits. The third digit encrypts the year of production (9 = 2009, 0 = 2010, 1 = 2011), the fourth and fifth are the serial number of the week of the year in which the iPhone was released (from 01 to 52). The first iPhone 3GS with the new boot began to appear in the 40th week of 2009, and from the 45th week the new boot began to be used in all released iPhones. So, if the third digit of the iPhone 3GS serial number is 0 or 1, it definitely has a new bootrom. If the third digit is 9, you need to look at the fourth and fifth digits. If they are less than or equal to 39, the butrom is definitely old; if they are greater than or equal to 45, the butrom is definitely new.

You can find out the serial number of your iPhone 3GS without turning on the device, because... The serial number is printed on the SIM card tray. However, this is not a very reliable method, especially when purchasing, because... The tray is easy to replace. You can find out the exact serial number either in iTunes (on the main device properties page) or on the device itself, in the menu "Settings-General-About this device-Serial number".

It is significantly different from all previous iPhones, firstly in design, and secondly in display. Both the front and back panels are made entirely of glass, and the smartphone is surrounded by a metal rim-antenna along the perimeter.

There are three iPhone 4 models:

  • regular GSM model, which looks exactly like the photo above
  • CDMA model iPhone 4 It is distinguished by the absence of a SIM tray and a different antenna design - it lacks a black stripe to the right of the headphone jack.
  • second revision of iPhone 4, which began production in 2012, looks no different from the regular iPhone 4 GSM, but its processor has much fewer jailbreak vulnerabilities. This iPhone model can only be distinguished using third-party utilities, for example, redsn0w. Connect the gadget to your computer, download redsn0w for OS X or Windows, run the utility. Go to the Extras-Even more-Identify menu, in the window that opens, scroll down the text and look at the value in the ProductType line. If there is "iPhone3,1" - this is a regular GSM-iPhone 4, if "iPhone3,2" is a new revision of iPhone 4 GSM; and the CDMA model is designated "iPhone3.3".

It looks almost the same as the iPhone 4 GSM, but its antenna design is the same as the iPhone 4 CDMA, while the iPhone 4S is always equipped with a SIM tray.

However, the most reliable way to distinguish an iPhone 4S is the model code on the back wall. If the second line under the word iPhone says “Model A1387”, this is definitely an iPhone 4S.

It differs from all other generations of iPhone in height - with the same screen width, its diagonal has grown to 4 inches. The back panel of the iPhone 5 is made of aluminum, and there are glass inserts at the top and bottom that cover the antennas.

Initially, the iPhone 5 was released in two versions - the “American model” and the “global model”. The difference between them is the list of supported LTE bands, but for Russia this practically does not matter, because none of these models can operate on Russian frequencies allocated for 4G.

You can distinguish iPhone 5 models by the model code on the back wall. "Model A1428" gives "US model" and "Model A1429" says "global".

The first iPhone released in a multi-colored plastic case. Available in blue, green, pink, yellow and white models.

iPhone 5c was released in 6 hardware models - A1532 (for North America and China), A1456 (CDMA model for the USA and Japan), A1507 (worldwide model), A1529 (for Southeast Asia), A1516 and A1526 (for China) which differ in the composition of supported LTE bands.

The first iPhone with a Touch ID scanner. The fingerprint scanner is built into the Home button, which has lost the icon but has a metal bezel. Other external differences between the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5 include dual flash and reduced clearance around the Power button and volume control buttons.

iPhone 5s came in 6 hardware models - A1533 (for North America and China), A1453 (CDMA model for North America and Japan), A1457 (global model), A1518 and A1528 (for China) and A1530 (for Southeast Asia ), which differ in the composition of supported LTE bands.

An unusual version of the iPhone, as evidenced by its name. There are no numbers, and the letters SE stand for Special Edition. Externally, the smartphone differs little from the iPhone 5s, but its hardware corresponds to the iPhone 6s. As for performance, the smaller iPhone even leads here, ahead of Apple's top flagships of 2015. There are practically no external differences between the iPhone 5s and SE: the SE is available in rose gold, while the 5s is not; In addition, there is additional marking on the back wall of the iPhone SE - a square with rounded corners and the inscription "SE" inside.

iPhone SE was released in 3 hardware models - A1662 (for America), A1724 (for China) and A1723 (for the rest of the world). It is important to note that the American model A1662 does not support LTE band 7, which is popular in Russia.

In 2017, the iPhone SE line was redesigned, instead of models with 16 and 64 GB of memory, models with 32 and 128 GB were produced.

Marked not only by a change in design, but also by another increase in screen diagonal. Externally, the iPhone 6 is similar to the very first generation of iPhone - a lot of metal, rounded corners. But that's where the similarities end: the iPhone 6 is much thinner and has different shapes and button positions. Thus, the Power button has moved from the top end to the right side of the smartphone. Another characteristic (and not the most pleasant) difference between the iPhone 6 and previous generations of iPhone is the camera protruding from the body. The iPhone 6 has only one hardware model, universal for all regions. iPhone 6 comes in three hardware models - A1549 (for the Americas), A1589 (for China) and A1586 (for the rest of the world).

The only thing that differs externally from the iPhone 6 is its size. But this is quite enough, because anyone will notice the difference between the diagonals of 5.5 and 4.7 inches. This is actually the largest iPhone ever. Like the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus has three different hardware models aimed at different regions of the world: A1522 for America, A1593 for China, and A1524 for most other countries.

The iPhone 6s cannot be visually distinguished from the iPhone 6; they are completely identical. However, the iPhone 6s is the first iPhone in history to also come in a new rose gold color. Other distinctive features of the iPhone 6s are the pressure-sensing 3D Touch display and a 12-megapixel camera. But a turned off iPhone 6s can only be unambiguously determined after examining the back cover. There, under the iPhone inscription, you will see a capital letter S in a square with rounded corners. Engraved below in small print is the hardware model code - A1633 (US model), A1700 (China), A1691 (Southeast Asia) or A1688 (rest of the world).

For the iPhone 6s Plus, everything that was written above about the iPhone 6s is true. It is also impossible to distinguish the 6s Plus from the 6 Plus without looking at the back cover and making sure that there is an “S” there. Like the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 6s Plus comes in four hardware models - A1634 (US model), A1699 (China), A1690 (Southeast Asia) or A1687 (rest of the world).

In 2016, Apple's long-standing rule that a new number in an iPhone's model number always meant a redesign of the case was broken. Of course, the iPhone 7 can be distinguished from its predecessors, but only if you look closely. Firstly, the new generation iPhone does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Secondly, the camera now does not stick out from the body so much; the protrusion has been smoothed out. Thirdly, the design of the antennas on the case has been simplified - the transverse straight stripes have been removed, leaving only stripes that go around the top and bottom edges of the iPhone along the perimeter. The iPhone 7 is no longer available in space gray; it has been replaced by two shades of black - matte and glossy (marketing name "black onyx"). The iPhone 7 has one of 4 hardware model numbers on the back wall - A1660, A1778, A1779 or A1780.

In the spring of 2017, a new color for the iPhone 7 case appeared – red.

For the iPhone 7 Plus, what is written in the paragraph above is again relevant, with the exception of the camera. It is difficult to confuse it with other models... if only because the iPhone 7 Plus has more than one. iPhone 7 Plus was the first iPhone ever to feature a dual-camera setup for 2x optical zoom and bokeh effects. Like the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus is available in 4 hardware models – A1661, A1784, A1785 and A1786.

In the spring of 2017, the iPhone 7 Plus also began to be produced in a red body color.

Although the iPhone 8 received the following number in its name, it was actually supposed to be called the iPhone 7s. There really are few differences from the “seven”: a glass back cover that makes wireless charging possible, updated cameras and a processor. Even their dimensions are the same, which makes it possible to use cases from iPhone 7/7+. The iPhone 8 has fewer colors than its predecessors: silver, space gray and gold. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus each received 4 hardware models: A1863, A1905, A1906 and A1907 for iPhone 8; A1864, A1897, A1898 and A1899 for iPhone 8 Plus.

iPhone X is the anniversary iPhone, dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the iPhone era that changed the world. This iPhone is radically different from anything that came before. It does not have a Home button (and indeed no buttons on the front at all) - this alone allows it to be clearly distinguished from other iPhones. This is also the first iPhone with an OLED display and the new Face ID authorization technology based on a three-dimensional facial model, which replaced the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. The iPhone X has only two body colors: silver and space gray.

The iPhone X has two hardware models – A1865 and A1901.

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max

iPhone XS is a logical continuation of the development of iPhone X. This generation was the first in history to support 512 GB of memory. Unlike the iPhone X, this iPhone was sold in three colors (a gold tint was added to silver and space gray) and in two sizes - along with the 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max.

The Max version of the iPhone XS also received two hardware SIM cards for the first time (in versions for China and Hong Kong, model A2104), the rest are content with eSIM. The remaining hardware models are the US version (A1920 and A1921 for the XS and XS Max, respectively), the global version (A2097 and A2101), the Japanese version (A2098 and A2102), and the XS model for China (A2100).

The iPhone XR was Apple's next big experiment since the not-so-successful iPhone 5c. The iPhone XR is deliberately cool - even the name emphasizes that it is only one letter of the alphabet behind the XS. There are not many compromises in it: an IPS display instead of OLED, one camera instead of two, and the absence of 3D Touch, but there are 6 bright body colors.

The iPhone XR has four hardware models - A1984 (American), A2105 (worldwide), A2106 (Japanese) and A2108 (Chinese, with two physical SIMs).

Articles and Lifehacks

For fans of the mobile world, the difference between an iPhone and a smartphone is obvious and does not need explanation. But for those who treat their gadget as a consumer, everything is not so clear.

In order not to look like a Neanderthal from Khatsapetovka in the eyes of the elite, you need to know the difference like the back of your hand. But jokes are jokes, but still?

Is iPhone a class of devices or a proper name?

If we approach the issue literally, then there are no differences between these two concepts: one includes the other.

iPhone is the Russified name of the trademark of the iPhone line of smartphones produced since 2007.

However, today it is no longer just a brand, but something like a subculture, or even a cult with its admirers, idols and, of course, haters.

The term “smartphone” itself has a much longer history. It appeared in 2000, when the R380s phone model was released.

It can be considered a prototype of modern devices only to a certain extent, since, although it had a touch screen, it did not allow the installation of third-party applications due to the closed Symbian OS 5.1 operating system.

Approximately from this moment, the rivalry between this class of mobile devices and the so-called communicators began, which ultimately led to their merger.

And today, by smartphone we mean a mobile phone with a touch screen and the functionality of a pocket computer.

So are there still differences?

In reality, there are, and very significant ones. But, oddly enough, they concern not the hardware, but the hardware used in the gadget. Today there are only three “live” operating systems left:

For fans of green... no, not a snake at all, but a droid, it is much easier in this regard - their operating system is much more democratic and transparent, which is why it is good.

The user has freedom of maneuver, but, as always in such cases, pays for it with comfort. The same picture as in the epic confrontation between desktop Windows and Linux. By the way, Android is created precisely on the basis of the latter.

And therefore, no matter how much iPhones are scolded, no matter how they are branded “accomplices of the enslavers of humanity,” “devils of the Matrix” and other epithets dear to the hearts of cyberpunk fans, their popularity is limited by one single factor: the price of new models. Everything else falls under the “green grapes” category.

Thus, if there are differences between these two concepts, they are not class or external, but rather ideological. Both types of gadgets perform the same tasks, but they do it in different ways.

iPhone and iPad are the most popular Apple devices and many do not know exactly how they differ. I think everyone is looking for such a request in order to find out the difference, because both gadgets are expensive, but you can only buy one.

There will be no detailed comparisons of characteristics, because these are completely two different devices. I'll just tell you about the most important differences between the iPhone and iPad. So that you understand when it may come in handy in your life.

Difference between iPhone and iPad

In general, I think you know the main points of difference between these gadgets. Now I will name the most important differences and tell you why I note this particular point.

It’s probably worth saying first that the iPhone is a smartphone, and the iPad is a tablet and they have an identical operating system called iOS. This is me just in case, in case someone doesn’t know, and I think we can start making comparisons.

Screen sizes

Despite the fact that the latest iPhones have very large screen sizes, 4.7 and 5.5 inches respectively, the iPad has always had a very huge screen.

The classic iPad size is 9.7 inches. But when the Pro line appeared, a model with dimensions of 12.9 inches was also born, and this is incredibly large.

Well, it’s probably worth noting the iPad Mini with a 7.9-inch screen. My point is that the tablet will fit much more information, play better and, of course, watching movies is also much more convenient.

Camera

This item will be on the iPhone side. Now in 7 PLUS you can find a dual camera that can take very cool photos in portrait mode and make a cool zoom without losing quality.

The iPad camera appeared much later and developed very slowly. The Pro version now has a 12 MP camera with flash and autofocus and this is the best camera in the history of Apple tablets.

They never put much emphasis on this, because usually tablets should be used for photos only in the most critical situations.

Battery

The autonomy of many Apple gadgets is usually excellent. In fact, the iPad became famous thanks to it, and if you buy this device for yourself, you understand that you will not need to constantly sit near an outlet.

The situation with the iPhone is a little worse, because its dimensions are smaller and, accordingly, a particularly large battery simply will not fit there.

So if you need a device that is durable and can be carried around, then a tablet is one hundred percent suitable for you.

It’s not for nothing that I connected these two points, since they are very closely related in our case. Usually the iPad is made more powerful than the iPhone, and now I’ll explain why.

If the tablet used to be a very necessary device for everyone, today the demand for it has greatly decreased. Sales are falling every year and Apple has said this many times.

There are two reasons why filling is usually better. The first is the frequency with which new devices appear. iPads are produced much less frequently and therefore everything is done with a reserve.

The second is a larger screen and more complex programs that need to be processed. Very often, these tablet computers are used by different companies, and the software there requires a lot of power.

Latest technologies

You've probably noticed that new features appear on iPhones much more often, and some of the latest include moisture protection, the Home button, 3D Touch and, of course, a dual camera.

The tablet simply does not need many of them, and if there is a need for them, they will appear only in the next generation.

So if this point is very important to you, then I think the choice will be obvious. However, when buying an iPhone, be prepared to replace it every two years.

What is better iPhone or iPad?

Now it's time to summarize everything and tell it like it is. I think I missed some points, but the most important ones were voiced and this is the most important.

When you are faced with a choice between these two devices, you need to clearly understand how exactly you will use them.

The price of both bites and it’s better to think ten times than to spontaneously buy and then the gadget will stupidly gather dust on the shelf. Therefore, I thought a little about why one or another device could be used.

We buy an iPad. It is increasingly being used as a home device. Just when we come home, we lie on the couch and watch movies. But it can also be used in such cases:

  • Thanks to the large screen and autonomy, it is often used by journalists. Lightweight, compact and can always be taken with you.
  • I’ve already mentioned it, but I’ll say it again that it can be used as a home entertainment device.
  • Travel gadget. The large screen and autonomy will keep you from getting bored on long flights.

The main thing is that you can understand the difference. That at first glance the devices seem exactly the same, but as practice shows, this is a little different.

We buy an iPhone. Smartphones have long been overshadowed by tablets and probably almost everyone has this gadget. After all, it will be difficult to live a day without it.

Therefore, the main points of use will be:

  • It’s convenient to take your phone with you to make calls.
  • An excellent camera - most often suitable for amateur photography, but is slowly moving into professional photography.
  • Same iPad, but weaker. You won’t get a full-fledged multimedia gadget, but 90 percent of it will be able to fulfill your needs.

Phones are popular for their compactness and excellent performance when it comes to flagships. People are tired of carrying two devices and it is much more convenient to do everything on one.

Results

Thus, I conclude that the iPad is becoming a very narrow-profile device and, in fact, it is difficult to find a task that the iPhone cannot handle.

Of course, if you work with iPad professionally, then the questions disappear altogether. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is very convenient for doing graphics, and the iPhone definitely won’t help here.

But for the average user, the top-end capabilities of the most ordinary iPhone are quite enough. So this is how the article turned out and I think now you understand how the iPhone differs from the iPad.

What is the difference between an iPhone and a smartphone? This is a typical question from most people who do not know which next-generation communication device to choose.

Quite often these devices are confused, as they have many common features.

First, you need to figure out what an iPhone is and what a smartphone is. These communication devices are considered much cooler than ordinary mobile phones, as they have a huge range of additional functions. Moreover, many of these functions have absolutely nothing to do with communications.

Smartphones are commonly called mobile devices that simultaneously combine the functions of mobile phones and personal pocket computers.

Such a device has a large touch screen and must have a built-in Wi-Fi module that provides access to the Internet at any time.

iPhones are sophisticated smartphones, but only from Apple. As a rule, they are all produced by the same brands that make ordinary mobile phones, which cannot be said about iPhones.

Typically, the iPhone has a built-in iOS operating system. These devices also have many more features. Plus, they have a slightly different external design and menu features.

Similarities between both types

But why are these devices so often confused with each other, if they even differ in appearance? Let us now consider the general features that, in any case, will be characteristic of both the cheapest iPhone and a smartphone equipped with many additional functions.

Both devices support standard minimal mobile phone functions (calls and SMS), as well as access to email, a navigator to determine the location and route. There is a Wi-Fi module, a function for sending voice messages and the ability to attach various documents to messages.

Both iPhones and smartphones have a large touch screen. The display is necessarily color, with a fairly bright and clear image, which cannot be said about most simple mobile phones. As for the keys, they are all touch sensitive.

But the standard key to exit to the main menu is non-touch; it is available on both types of devices. Volume and lock controls are located on the side or top panels, which largely depends on the device model.

Both types of devices allow you to store a lot of data. You can upload music, photos, pictures, documents and even programs to the devices!

Memory can be either built-in or additional, depending on the specific type and model of the device. Moreover, both types of devices are perfectly synchronized with the computer, which allows you to transfer data without problems.

On these devices you can play, listen to music, view and edit photos, and watch videos at any time. You can even download modern online games or photo viewing programs. The devices can also support applications that are not available for ordinary mobile phones.

How are iPhones different from smartphones?

And now as for the differences directly.

In fact, there are a lot of them, although in most models they do not affect the basic technical characteristics in any way. There are several main differences that can immediately distinguish even the most expensive smartphone from an iPhone.

Let's look at them in more detail:

  1. The main difference is that the iPhone was originally designed as a mini-computer.
Therefore, it is impossible to find such a device from a mobile phone manufacturer. As for smartphones, they can well be called “far-evolved mobile phones.” Therefore, their manufacturers are usually the same as those of mobile phones. But only the most popular brands have a place here. That is why any iPhone, even the cheapest one, cannot have any analogues or competitors, since it has only one real manufacturer.
  2. Usually smartphones do not have a slot for a memory card.
There are already enough GB of memory built in, which allows you to store not only some of your personal files, but also complex software. When it comes to smartphones, only the most expensive models have a lot of built-in memory. In addition to everything else, you should buy a memory card separately, which is rarely sold together with the device. This causes some inconvenience to many people.
  3. Smartphones, depending on the model and manufacturer, can use a variety of operating systems.
Of course, devices running on Android are considered to be the most common and reliable. But if we are talking about an iPhone, then it uses a new product - the unique iOS operating system, which is made exclusively for Apple.
  4. iPhone cases are always made in one piece, but they are equipped with non-removable batteries.
This allows you to not worry so much about the integrity of the device, since the material used for the case is the highest quality and durable. But the battery cannot be replaced if it fails. Smartphone cases can be disassembled, and a new battery can always be inserted.

The main subtleties of how an iPhone differs from a smartphone were considered. Of course, we shouldn’t forget that the price of iPhones is much higher than even the most expensive smartphones. There is a big overpayment for the brand if we are talking about the original and not a fake.

What is better - an iPhone or a smartphone? It is impossible to give a definite answer to the question here. Of course, a real high-quality iPhone will be a more reliable option for a multifunctional mobile device. But a good smartphone can also be found on store shelves.

The main thing is not to fall for a fake and purchase only products from a real manufacturer. Then even the most inexpensive device from any popular company will serve faithfully and without problems for many years.
