Others, however, did not know how to work with Russian text, filling in the Russian-language names of the recorded files with “krakozyabry”.

In the end, despite the seeming abundance in this niche, the only solution that perfectly fit my requirements turned out to be an application from Ashampoo. It was completely free, did not require administrator rights, had a convenient Russian-language interface, worked perfectly both with discs and with their images and supported working with Blu-ray discs even when we still had far from everyone who knew what it was. I still consider this application to be the best free disc burning product.

There are nine sections in the program - "Data Recording", "Backup", "Music", "Video + Slideshow", "Covers", "Copy Disc", "Disc Image", "Additional Features" and "Maintenance" .

The "Write data" section is intended for recording arbitrary sets of files and supports several additional options. Here you can write both new discs and add to existing ones.

If the data set is too large for the selected disc format, you can use the function that will automatically divide the project into several discs.

There is also a function for burning discs with autorun. Autostart can be implemented in two ways - using start menu or with normal start playback of content after loading a recorded disc into the drive. If you choose the option with a menu, then you can design it right here, using a special built-in editor, which already has a decent supply of templates.

And for data that needs to be protected from unauthorized access, there is an encrypted recording function. Password access is used as protection. Moreover, the program controls the level of reliability of the password set by the user. For example, a password of less than five characters cannot be physically set here. If it turns out to be just easy, the application will report this, but it will still allow you to burn the disc.

The "Backup" section is used to create backups files stored on a computer with Ashampoo Burning Studio 15 installed, as well as on devices connected to it, such as smartphones, tablets, players, and so on. The program supports not only the creation of new archives, but also the updating of existing ones. The finished archive can be burned to disk or saved to a disk or flash drive.

But what if the archive needs to be written, but its size exceeds the size of the disk? In fact, there is nothing complicated about this.
