Level 1 cache (L1)

Cache memory is used by the processor to reduce access time to more frequently used data and instructions. L1 (level 1) cache is small in size and works much faster than both system memory and other cache levels. If the processor does not find the requested data in L1, it continues to look for it in the L2 cache. On some processors, this search is performed simultaneously in L1 and L2.

32 kB + 32 kB (kilobytes)
Level 2 cache (L2)

L2 (level 2) cache is slower than L1 cache, but in return it has a higher capacity, allowing it to cache more data. It, like L1, is much faster than system memory (RAM). If the processor does not find the requested data in L2, it continues to look for it in the L3 cache (if available) or in RAM memory.

Accelerometer(or G-sensor) - sensor of the device’s position in space. As a main function, the accelerometer is used to automatically change the orientation of the image on the display (vertical or horizontal). Also, the G-sensor is used as a pedometer; it can control various functions of the device by turning or shaking.
Gyroscope- a sensor that measures rotation angles relative to a fixed coordinate system. Capable of measuring rotation angles in several planes simultaneously. A gyroscope together with an accelerometer allows you to accurately determine the position of the device in space. Devices that use only accelerometers have lower measurement accuracy, especially when moving quickly. Also, the capabilities of the gyroscope can be used in modern games for mobile devices.
Light sensor- a sensor that sets the optimal brightness and contrast values for a given light level. The presence of a sensor allows you to increase the battery life of the device.
Proximity sensor- a sensor that detects when the device is close to your face during a call, turns off the backlight and locks the screen, preventing accidental clicks. The presence of a sensor allows you to increase the battery life of the device.
Geomagnetic sensor- a sensor for determining the direction of the world in which the device is directed. Tracks the orientation of the device in space relative to the magnetic poles of the Earth. The information received from the sensor is used in mapping programs for terrain orientation.
Atmospheric pressure sensor- sensor for precise measurement of atmospheric pressure. It is part of the GPS system, allows you to determine altitude above sea level and speed up location determination.
Touch ID- fingerprint identification sensor.

Satellite navigation:

GPS(Global Positioning System) is a satellite navigation system that provides measurements of distance, time, speed and determines the location of objects anywhere on Earth. The system is developed, implemented and operated by the US Department of Defense. The basic principle of using the system is to determine location by measuring distances to an object from points with known coordinates - satellites. The distance is calculated by the delay time of signal propagation from sending it by the satellite to receiving it by the antenna of the GPS receiver.
GLONASS(Global Navigation Satellite System) - Soviet and Russian satellite navigation system, developed by order of the USSR Ministry of Defense. The measurement principle is similar to the American GPS navigation system. GLONASS is designed for operational navigation and timing support for land, sea, air and space-based users. The main difference from the GPS system is that GLONASS satellites in their orbital motion do not have resonance (synchrony) with the rotation of the Earth, which provides them with greater stability.

In December, Highscreen expanded its line of inexpensive Easy phones with the release of a new model, Highscreen Easy L and its PRO version. Currently the series includes 6 models, 3 of which are modifications. All of them are available in Russian stores with warranty and service. They turned out to be interesting in terms of the combination of characteristics and cost. The new Highscreen Easy L will be of interest to those who prioritize LTE support. Plus, here, as in the Boost and Power series, a battery with an increased capacity is installed, providing an advantage in battery life compared to competitors’ offerings in the same price segment. The Highscreen Easy S and Highscreen Easy F we previously tested worked only on 3G networks.

Highscreen Easy L review

Equipment

Highscreen Easy L is supplied in a light-colored package. On the cover there is a schematic image of the phone with data on the characteristics.

The package includes a charger, microUSB cable, headphones, instructions and a warranty card.

Appearance

Like a number of previous new products from Highscreen, this phone is offered in different colors. From bright (red, yellow, blue) to classic (black).

Highscreen Easy L looks most advantageous in bright colors. Fresh and positive design, not overloaded with decorations. I wonder if replacement covers will be available for separate purchase?

The phone not only does not look like a budget phone, but also pleases with its build quality. All parts fit perfectly together. There are no gaps or play in individual elements.

Back cover with sandy texture. It does not slip out of your hands and is pleasant to the touch. But over time, it will collect fingerprints.

The main camera block is shifted to the left side, with an LED flash below it. It does not protrude above the surface of the body. The already familiar manufacturer logo is placed in the center.

At the bottom is a microUSB with OTG support. On top is an audio jack for wired headphones. On the right side there are a pair of mechanical buttons.

The buttons are easy to press, the travel is short, and they respond clearly when pressed. They are fixed tightly in the body.

The front side of Highscreen Easy L is covered with protective glass. Additional film is applied from the factory. There are three non-backlit touch buttons on the bottom frame. On the opposite side there is a loudspeaker grille and a front camera lens.

The oblong speaker grille is shifted to the bottom. It does not overlap when placed in the palm of your hand. The volume is acceptable.

The case is collapsible. It takes some force to remove the cover. Under it there is a removable battery, two separate trays for SIM and a slot for a micro SD memory card. All connectors can be used without the need to select priority.

Screen

Highscreen Easy L has a 5-inch S-IPS screen with HD resolution. The quality of the matrix is excellent considering what is usually offered in this price segment. The viewing angles are wide. The illumination is uniform over the entire area.

Small fonts are readable. Games and movies can be enjoyed to the fullest. There is no oleophobic or anti-reflective coating. Five simultaneous touches are supported. The sensor is responsive.

Filling

The performance level is higher than that of the two younger models. On board is a 4-core Mediatek MT6737T processor with 64-bit architecture (Cortex-A53 cores) and Mali-T720 MP2 graphics. During testing, no lack of power was noticed. Applications switch and launch quickly, and most games run at a comfortable frame rate. During prolonged loading, no noticeable heating of the lid is observed. 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory are available.

Connection

The Highscreen Easy L smartphone fully supports LTE frequencies of Russian operators. We tested the work with SIM cards of several operators in Kazan. The connection is stable, file download speed is high. Bluetooth 4.0, single-band Wi-Fi and GPS are supported. A cold start and searching for satellites takes about 30 seconds. The positioning accuracy makes it possible to use it as a navigator.

Battery

The strength of the Highscreen Easy L is its battery life. The compact case hides a battery with a capacity of 3600 mAh. It's enough for an honest day of active work. About 5-5.5 hours for games, 7 hours for movies. With moderate use, charging will be required every 1.5-2 days. The discharge schedule is uniform.

Camera

The main camera resolution is 8 megapixels with autofocus. The quality of the images is at a good level, provided there is a sufficient level of lighting outdoors and indoors. The application is standard from the Google package. There is a set of settings and creative modes. Front camera 2 MP.

Software

Highscreen Easy L runs on the Google Android 6.0 operating system without third-party shells. Complete absence of affiliate programs and games, only the standard Google package. Works smoothly and quickly. Over-the-air updates are supported.

Results for Highscreen Easy L

Highscreen Easy L is one of the best 5-inch smartphones in a budget up to 8,000 rubles. Strengths include S-IPS HD screen, 4-core 64-bit processor, clean operating system, LTE support, 8 MP camera, two SIM and memory card, bright colors. You can find fault with the amount of RAM, but it needs to be considered in terms of cost and general characteristics. For our part, we did not observe any problems with performance. Among the important advantages over competitors is a capacious battery with a long battery life.
