The built-in keyboard on my laptop is broken. And I decided to turn it off (well, or block it, whatever happens). After digging for some time on the Internet, I did not find a normal solution. I had to climb into the depths of Windows myself. Here is the result of my research.

As a result, the built-in keyboard stops working, and "Unknown device" appears in the device manager.

How to disable numbers?

To turn off the keyboard numbers (case) that appear on the display when you try to type the characters "J", "K", "L", try one of the following:

press the Num lk (Num Lock) key;
use the combination "Fn + Num Lock", "Fn + F11".

After the case switch, letters will be printed again.

Shutdown forever

Full deactivation may be necessary in cases where you need to disable the "native" keyboard and connect an additional one or replace the keyboard panel with a new one (another model).

Before you disable the keyboard on a laptop completely, you need to find out its digital signature, or identifier. This procedure is performed like this:

1. Open the "Keyboard" section in the Task Manager (see Method # 1 of a temporary shutdown).

2. Right-click on the name of the input device.
