Top unkillable phones. How to choose a shockproof and waterproof mobile phone

Moisture and dust are the main enemies of a modern gadget. Just one drop that penetrates the case can cause many short circuits, resulting in complete failure of the device. In order to save users from the need to “fiddle” with gadgets, manufacturers are increasingly providing their devices with IP68 protection. Such indestructible devices are not afraid of rain, heat, or sea water.

DEXP Larus P4

  • Degree of protection: IP67
  • Battery: 1,700 mAh
  • Support 2SIM: There is
  • Camera: 0.3 megapixel
  • Memory: 4 MB (expandable up to 32 GB)

Price: from 2,389 rubles

If you are not ready to wait a whole month and a half for Vkworld to arrive from China, it is better to switch your attention to the DEXP Larus P4 model. This is a very simple phone, the main advantage of which is its modest price.

The fact that the Larus P4 has a lot of functions can even be regarded as a plus - it is thanks to this that the autonomy of the device is “at its best”. The manufacturer assures that on one charge you will be able to talk for 15 hours without interruption. It is doubtful that anyone will undergo such a test - it is not necessary; You can be convinced that the device is “long-lived” by simply reading reviews from experienced users.

Advantages

  • Good autonomy.
  • Reasonable price.
  • Supports flash card with large memory capacity. Not every device from our top can handle a 32 GB microSD.

Flaws

  • Weak camera.
  • Minimum built-in memory.

SENSEIT P3

  • Degree of protection: IP67, MIL-STD-810
  • Battery: 1,200 mAh
  • Support 2SIM: No
  • Camera: 3.2 megapixels
  • Memory: 32 MB (expandable up to 16 GB)

Price: from 5,489 rubles

The Senseit P3 has one feature that allows it to take a place among the best rugged phones - it meets not only IP67, but also the American military standard MIL-STD-810. This means that the gadget is able to remain operational after sudden temperature changes, is not afraid of shocks and water, as well as sea salt, fog and many others. unfavorable conditions. The list of tests that equipment applying for MIL-STD-810 certification is subjected to is impressive in its breadth.

While the Senseit P3 is indeed very durable, its functionality leaves much to be desired. The phone is equipped with a weak battery, does not support two SIM cards, and cannot boast of a large amount of memory - all this allows us to judge that the cost of the device is frankly overpriced.

Advantages

  • Great build.
  • Meets military MIL-STD-810 certification.
  • Good camera for a feature phone

Flaws

  • The device cannot be called compact - the body is quite thick.
  • Minimum memory - you can’t do without a flash drive.

Runbo X1

  • Degree of protection: IP67
  • Battery: 2,200 mAh
  • Support 2SIM: No
  • Camera: 0.3 megapixel
  • Memory: 4 GB

Price: from 9,900 rubles

The reader may have a completely reasonable question: why is the Runbo X1 feature phone so expensive if its technical characteristics are at the same level as other, much cheaper devices? The thing is that the X1 is capable of working as a full-fledged walkie-talkie in the civilian frequency range (400 - 470 MHz) - the receiver range of the device from Runbo reaches 5 kilometers. Using X1 you can communicate not only with similar mobile devices, but also with “real” walkie-talkies.

The device from Runbo has other interesting features. In particular, this is the only secure phone that can work in CDMA networks - not only in GSM.

Advantages

  • Lots of built-in memory.
  • Walkie talkie function.
  • The presence of a convenient clip that allows you to securely attach the phone to your belt.

Flaws

  • Impressive price.
  • Lack of slot for flash card.

Conclusion

By functionality push-button phones Smartphones are no match. But when it comes to dust and moisture protection, they are in no way inferior - technically, it is even easier to provide reliable protection for a feature phone, because it does not have a huge display, which is considered the most vulnerable point.

Finding a secure phone on sale with a powerful battery at a reasonable price is not easy now - smartphones have long taken over the market, and a generation of users is already growing up who can’t even imagine what phones can have physical keyboard. The leader in sales of devices with enhanced protection is the Player.ru portal - although this online store did not receive the most flattering ratings from our site, we have to admit that only it offers a sufficient selection of protected phones.

In our everyday life mobile phone firmly established its position as a mandatory and required device communications. It is no longer a luxury item, as it was 10 - 15 years ago. With the development of technology, mobile phones have evolved from conventional push-button bulky and heavy devices to ultra-thin and light counterparts with touch control.

But with the progress of progress, shockproof and waterproof phones began to appear. An indestructible mobile phone, first of all, is in great demand among people who are active or extreme method life, as well as working as a security guard or rescuer.

Secure phone: how to choose, advantages and disadvantages

First, when choosing a phone, you need to decide on the functionality of the device: you need a modern one with a large set of useful functions and applications or will the usual push-button version with basic options. The cost and further choice of the mobile phone brand will depend on this choice, because not all companies specialize in the production of push-button telephony and with touch controls. Depending on the manufacturer this equipment has advantages over conventional devices and its analogues.

The main advantages that help you survive any extreme situations that indestructible mobile phones have:

  • ability to withstand falls onto concrete from a height of more than one meter;
  • resistance to prolonged vibrations;
  • Possibility of prolonged immersion in water to a depth of one meter;
  • screen armor that can withstand any mechanical damage: scratches, chips, cracks, etc.

But having the advantages of their execution, they are also not deprived of disadvantages:

  • the price is an order of magnitude higher compared to conventional mobile phones;
  • rough and angular body shape;
  • large overall dimensions;
  • relatively heavy weight.

Attention! When choosing a device, you also need to pay attention to the IP protection class. This classification determines the level of security mobile telephony.

IP degree of protection. Detailed classification

All over the world, a unified classification of electrical equipment security has been established (IP) (Ingress Protection Rating, translated from English as the level of protection). It classifies the level of dust protection and water protection and corresponds to international standard IEC 60529.

According to this classification, electrical equipment is marked IPXX (XX - two digits), which first indicates the degree of resistance to dust and other foreign bodies, and then the level of protection from water. The detailed classification is presented below:

Dust protection

Moisture protection

Zero level of security IPX0 Zero level of security
Protection from foreign bodies larger than 50 mm Protection against leakage of vertically falling water
Protection from foreign bodies larger than 12.5 mm Protection against water directed at an angle of 15 °
Protection from foreign bodies larger than 2.5 mm Protected against water entering at an angle of 60°
Protection from foreign bodies larger than 1 mm Waterproof from any angle
75% protected from dust Protected from a weak jet for up to 3 minutes
100% dustproof Security from sea water, strong flows for more than 3 minutes
Immersion in water up to 1 m for 30 minutes is possible.
Stable performance in water at a depth of more than 1 m for an unlimited time

Accordingly, the IP 68 protection class is complete protection of your mobile phone from dust and water infiltration when the device is immersed to a depth of more than one meter, ensuring stable work unlimited time.

Impact-proof properties do not have such a clear classification, and the resistance of a model to any type of mechanical damage can be judged based on the results of crash tests and consumer reviews. However, the design of the device is designed in such a way that it will reliably protect your mobile phone from accidental falls from a height of less than one meter.

Battery

Besides reliable protection from shocks and moisture, an indestructible phone must have good battery large capacity. , having in their arsenal a lot useful applications: compass, thermal imager, walkie-talkie, GPS module etc., consume quite a lot of energy and require maximum capacity(mA/h) for certain dimensions.

Advice. In addition to capacity, an important parameter is the duration battery life and continuous conversation.

Safety glass

The glass that protects the screen of a phone and especially a smartphone must be resistant to scratches, cracks and other mechanical damage. For devices with high level For protection, it must have a three-layer structure: the top and bottom layers are tempered high-strength glass, the inner layer is polyethylene film with high tear resistance. This design is called triplex. Armored glass can also have an outer glass that can withstand high temperatures.

Rating of secure phones 2016 – 2017

Sonim was the pioneer in the production of mobile telephony with an increased level of security. But releasing only push-button models with a basic set of functions, it could not compete with other manufacturers who topped the rating of indestructible phones. Below is the top 5 ranking best phones 2016 – 2017:

Advice. When choosing a phone, first of all, focus on your needs and the conditions of intended use.

The shockproof and waterproof mobile phone will function stably in any extreme situations. You can always be sure of its reliability and stay in touch in any situation.

Testing a shockproof waterproof phone - video

Even the most sophisticated smartphones famous brands cannot withstand the “blows of fate.” Falls from heights, water, sand, dirt - all this sooner or later disables any equipment. The Internet project “Be Mobile” has selected the 10 most shock- and water-resistant smartphones.

We continue to publish selections of the most interesting mobile devices. We recommend reading:

How many screens have been broken when smartphones fell from a height? How many devices “died” after being immersed in water? Tens, hundreds of thousands, millions? Accurate statistics no on this matter, but data service centers show that the two most common problems(excluding manufacturing defects) with which consumers come - broken screen and water that got inside the mobile device.

For this reason different manufacturers Technicians are increasingly thinking about producing protected models. Such devices have a reinforced body with a metal frame, rubber linings, a sealed design and a waterproof coating.

All protected models are marked with the degree of protection of the electrical equipment shell from penetration of solid objects and water - Ingress Protection Rating (abbreviated IP). You can read about what the numbers in this classification mean.

Correspondents of our Internet project examined 50 secure phones with powerful batteries and selected 10 options that we are ready to recommend as a purchase. First of all, we took into account models with protection classes IP67 and IP68. They are capable of surviving falls on asphalt from a height of two meters, as well as immersion in water to a depth of 1 meter for a period of 30 minutes to 1 hour, without compromising performance.

However, it is possible that buyers of the gadget will also be attracted by its size - unlike the TM-4082R, it easily fits into any pocket or shoulder bag.

And permissions front camera barely enough even for, let alone a selfie.

But on the body of the gadget there is a mount for a carabiner, thanks to which it is convenient to take it with you for a person involved in extreme sports.

And the screen sizes fully meet the requirements modern users– 4.7 inches with HD resolution.

Messenger. Crash test of Ginzzu RS94D smartphone

Today, the market is flooded with variously equipped devices: with protection from dust, moisture, self-healing plastic and much more. It turns out that finding a durable smartphone is not difficult? Maybe so, but it’s unlikely that anything compares to the Ginzzu RS94D. This is what we will check today. Literally. Let's give this “SUV among smartphones” a real crash test.

Main features:

  • screen: 4.7", 1280 x 720;
  • processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, 4 cores, 1.2 GHz;
  • memory: 1/8 GB;
  • camera: main – 5 megapixels, front – 0.3 megapixels;
  • battery: 4000 mAh
  • cost: from 13 thousand rubles.

Rice. 8. RS94 DUAL 4G – good protection, large battery, weak power.

Caterpillar Cat S40 – good parameters, weak battery

The Cat S40 is no longer one of the most affordable price category– you can buy it by paying no less than $330.

At the same time, the size of its RAM is not impressive - for the same price you could install more than 1 gigabyte of RAM on the phone.

A camera with a resolution of 2 megapixels is also not suitable for everyone.

However, shock protection, the ability to be submerged and work in cold temperatures down to -25 degrees are the factors thanks to which the smartphone still finds its buyers.

Moreover, among its advantages one can also name a bright screen, and quite modern processors.

CAT S40 - rugged smartphone

Rice. 9. Model Cat S40 – average shooting parameters, short service life without recharging.

Neither more nor less - the most sophisticated shockproof smartphone in the world. Just like Xiaomi did fashionable smartphones with a capacious battery, Motorola was the first to create a prestigious rugged smartphone in the body of a regular model.

The experiment began with the 2015 Moto X Force. At that time, the model was super-top, with one main difference from its competitors - a screen covered with several layers of protective plates. All other characteristics of the armored Moto were typical for flagships, and the stupid Snapdragon processor 810, and cheap cameras were inferior to the creations of Samsung and Apple, but the X Force was far from a budget-feeling device that was incredibly difficult to break, and due to this it became a cult

mobile phone (as opposed to shame and disgrace in the form of the reincarnation of Nokia 3310). Therefore, it is not surprising that Motorola released a rugged model for the Z-series in 2016.

New times, unfortunately, dictate new trends, so the secure smartphone has become a little more “glamorous” to please more buyers. There are now many more vulnerable places for scratches on the body, and the fingerprint scanner on the front panel is now easy to “knock off” instead of the screen if the smartphone lands poorly. The camera on the back panel sticks out from the body like a large round glass - it is not provided with a protective “armor”, because, according to Motorola’s idea, buyers will attach modules to the back cover. Also, because of the “we need to do it like Apple” complex, Motorola was removed standard connector for headphones - connect, they say, a headset via an adapter or directly to USB Type-C.

Therefore, in terms of the ratio of strength and bells and whistles, the old Moto X Force looks preferable, but only in this case you will get a modern and very fast Snapdragon processor, a cool AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution, a capacious battery and modern quality cameras. And all this in the thinnest case, by the standards of rugged smartphones, 7 millimeters thick, like your iPhone 7!

But for such a combination you will have to pay, and foreign stores and in large sizes - new Moto Z Force will cost from 35 to 45 thousand rubles and is unlikely to become cheaper. Be that as it may, we recommend it to everyone who craves the coolest mobile phone that is guaranteed not to break after falling from their hands onto concrete.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Active - a macho flagship in camouflage

Samsung is doing well everywhere, and Koreans are also paying attention to the class of secure phones. Ever since the Galaxy S5, Korean flagships have received tuned versions with water protection. The Galaxy S7, which is still relevant today, has also become an “SUV”, but only in its flat form (without curved display) versions. And even with a 4000 mAh battery, that is, with the main drawback of the regular S7 corrected.

The level of water protection in the smartphone is the same as in the “just Galaxy S7” - according to the IP68 certificate (it will survive under water for half an hour at a depth of up to 1.5 meters without any problems). But the body of the smartphone is no longer glossy and not rectangular in Korean style, so it will appeal to those who are annoyed by Samsung’s “washy” shapes. And the most important thing is that in such a “body kit” the S7 is protected according to the military standard MIL-STD-810G, that is, it is not afraid of exposure to high and low temperatures, extreme shaking and dust, and will also survive a fall from one and a half meters onto a flat surface without consequences.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Active

True, it is not nearly as heavily armored as Motorola's Force series. The display is covered with plastic, under which is hidden the same protective glass Gorilla Glass. Therefore, it is better not to drop your smartphone “for fun,” as X Force owners like to do.

There are no spare parts for the outlandish model anywhere, it is sold only in the USA exclusively from the AT&T operator, the firmware from the “simple” Galaxy S7 is not suitable, the Russian language has to be installed using “workarounds”, and buying a smartphone abroad will cost about 35 thousand rubles. Not as cheap as for a smartphone, let’s assume, without a guarantee, which also needs to be adapted for work in Russia. But this is a real Galaxy S7 with its cool camera, the very best AMOLED display, flagship and very high-quality filling. There is simply no other equally prestigious rugged smartphone.

Blackview BV7000 Pro - cheap and sophisticated

Every smartphone, in addition to its basic characteristics, has the so-called “moral strength”. It lies in the fact that a priori you will handle a mobile phone worth 40–50 thousand rubles more carefully than budget model- you won’t talk on the flagship in a dusty place, you’ll wrap your glass smartphone in a cheap case from Aliexpress and filthy films. In general, you will make futile attempts to keep your expensive mobile phone, even at the expense of the freedom to use it.

This makes sense if you are a geek who makes the most of an obscenely expensive model. But why “protect yourself” and spend huge sums if you just need a modern, moderately fast smartphone for a little bit of everything? It’s enough just not to be a “mobile photographer” and look around a little to pick up a very fast and inexpensive Chinese phone, which, moreover, will not be too much to spare.

Among the protected models, the Blackview BV7000 Pro looks like a smart option - one of the newest and most technically advanced protected “Chinese”. Water protection according to IP68 class, durable protective glass, which, although it will not save you from falling from a great height, will not crack from moderate impacts. In general, the smartphone is not completely indestructible, but very strong.

Blackview BV7000 Pro

But the trick lies in the ratio of characteristics and price. For 11 thousand rubles you get a faceted model with metal inserts, Full HD display, a quite sensible MT6750T processor (don’t be alarmed - this is a “reinvented” MT6753) with 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage + microSD slot and 3500 mAh with a five-inch display diagonal. The characteristics look decent even without taking into account the surcharge for water protection and partial impact resistance.

Flaws? Mediocre cameras (not terrible, but similar to smartphones costing 6–7 thousand in Russia), unpredictable build quality from one unit to another, and almost no manufacturer support. That is, the “glitches” of the firmware are the problems of buyers, and not the motivation for releasing an update over the air.

Blackview BV7000 Pro

But the smartphone is cheap, sophisticated and secure - competitors are either noticeably more expensive, or are filled with old hardware, and are also not bug-free. Don’t expect that you will get a completely problem-free BV7000 Pro, but if you have experience in disputes on Aliexpress (to extract a discount from the seller for defects) and without the pathos of “everything that worse than iPhone- scrap metal" can be taken.

But seriously, then Chinese brand AGM produces smartphones, as they say, every week, but it doesn’t look like just another “bracker” manufacturer. Normal (not cool, but normal) filling for the money, and not quite Chinese price. In short, the realities are as follows:

  • Snapdragon 617- today it has turned into a budget Snapdragon 430. Eight leisurely cores.
  • 4/64 GB of memory. Solid, especially against the background of crafts with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage in official retail.
  • 5.5" Full HD AMOLED display. Excellent considering the price.
  • 5400 mAh battery. We remember the efficiency of the display and rejoice. Find out what the smartphone supports fast charging Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and rejoice again.
  • dual rear camera. Bad dual camera, worse than in Redmi Pro. That is, the additional sensor is needed only for post-processing to slightly improve the picture. But the automation is dull, and high quality pictures only happen on a very sunny day.
  • fingerprint scanner.Thank you for being alive, as they say.

Everything else is so-so. Android 5.1 (yes, in 2017), although the Chinese promise an update to Android 7.0, the speaker is of low quality, the system is periodically plagued by glitches and freezes for no particular reason. But there is water protection (IP68), the body is durable, and battery life is good. Whether to pay 16 thousand rubles for such joy is an open question. X-First has as many alternatives good characteristics“on paper” there is practically nothing. And the reliability of both AGM and its Chinese counterparts is questionable.
