How to extract the application installation file (.apk) from the device. How to extract the apk file of an installed application in Android

It's time to get your own ready-made application that can be run on a smartphone or tablet. If you run the Corona SDK on Windows, then only compilation for Android is available. To create a version for iOS, you need to run the program on Mac. Regardless of the system you choose, you will first need a developer key.

To compile, go to File > Build for Android or press Ctrl + B. The following window will open.

Application Name. The name of your application. It is better to write it in the same language as the application itself. It can be in Russian or Latin letters, it’s not important.

Version Code. An integer that represents the program code version. The value is required for internal purposes and is not shown to users. For example, when updating an application on Google Play, the version should increase by 1 or more. Otherwise, Google simply will not add the APK file.

Version Name. Application version. Represents a string that is shown to users. Usually written as two or three numbers separated by a dot, like 3.14 or 2.1.1. The first number is the major version number, the second number is the minor version number. In any case, the method of writing the version remains at the discretion of the author and he himself decides in what form it is more convenient for him to do it.

Package. Unique application identifier. Traditionally written as com.company_name.application_name. Instead of the initial com, ru or io is sometimes found. Each word must contain at least two characters and begin with a Latin letter. May include numbers, Latin letters and underscores. Other characters in the writing are not allowed. It is also not allowed to use keywords reserved in Java such as function, int, for, etc.

Target App Store. Select which store or platform your app targets. The following options are available:

  • Amazon - for the Amazon Store service;
  • GameStick - for the GameStick platform;
  • Google Play - for the Google Play digital distribution service;
  • Nook - for the Barnes & Noble store;
  • Ouya - for the Ouya game console;
  • None - the application is not intended for digital stores.

Minimum SDK Version. The minimum version of Android on which your application can run. This value cannot be changed.

Keystore. Developer key. Before compilation, you will also need a password. You can check the “Save Password” checkbox so you don’t have to enter a password every time.

Key Alias. Key name. If it is the only one, it will be selected automatically.

Save to Folder. The folder where you should save the finished APK file. By default it saves to the project folder.

All entered settings are saved and there is no need to specify them again when compiling again.

Many Android users know that using the Titanium Backup application, you can extract the application from the device as an apk file. Today we will look at a method by which you can pull out the apk file of an application directly from the Google Play Store.

The advantage of this method is that there is no need to first install the application on the device. Unfortunately, this method only works for free applications. So what we need:

1. Google Chrome

Create a second shortcut for Google Chrome on your desktop.

Right-click on the shortcut and select “Properties”. In the “Object” field add the following commands separated by a space:

Ignore-certificate-errors

Allow-running-insecure-content

It will look something like this:

...\chrome.exe" --ignore-certificate-errors --allow-running-insecure-content

Click “Apply” and “OK”.

After this operation, you need to restart the browser, closing all running instances of the application.

2. Google account name and device ID

In fact, we are going to simulate downloading an application onto the device, so you need to know the name of your account, that is, the name of your Google mailbox, as well as the identification number of your Android device.

Everything is clear with the box, but to find out the device ID, open the dialer on your smartphone and dial *#*#8255#*#*

On the screen that appears, you need to find the line “Device ID:”

The ID number is the combination of letters and numbers following "android-". For example, if in the line you see “Device ID: android-1122aa33bb445577”, then the identifier is the combination “1122aa33bb445577”. Write down this combination.

If for some reason you were unable to find out your Device ID using the above method, you can simply download the Device ID application from the Google Play Store.

3. APK Downloader

Download the browser extension called APK Downloader.

In the window that appears, enter the address of our Google account, that is, the email address. Password (yeah, scary), as well as Device ID. After that, click “Login”.

In the next window, select your country and mobile operator, and then click “Save Settings”. Next, a window should appear indicating that the extension was successfully activated.

4. Google Play Store

Now go to our favorite Google Play Store and select any free application. A characteristic green head with an arrow will appear on the right side of the browser's address bar.

Click on this icon, and the application is successfully downloaded to your computer as an apk file. Essentially, we now know how to create standalone distributions of free applications.

It is not possible to verify the absolute integrity of the developer of the APK Downloader extension, so enter your account information at your own peril and risk. In addition, such actions, in principle, violate the rules of use of the Google Play Store.

The APK file with which we install games is a batch file and can be extracted if necessary. This is very convenient, since already installed applications can be extracted into one file.

Situations often occur when, for example, you completed a game and deleted it from your mobile device. But after a while they decided to play again. In order not to start the passage from scratch, it is enough to remove the ARC and use it when necessary. The entire process will be restored.

Extracting the APK will be very useful when you need it via Bluetooth to a friend. To avoid installing a special program, you can use the method below.

ARC is extracted from installed applications using special software. A convenient file manager is perfect for this. Astro File Manager.

The file manager will help you manage the backup of programs available on the device, viewing videos and images, and the task manager. To easily remove the installation ARC, you will need:

3. Swipe left to open the main application menu. At the bottom left, click on the tools icon and go to Application Manager.

4. You will see a list with all installed programs and games.

5. To remove the ARK, press the special button located in the upper right corner. From the options provided, select BACKUP. For clarity, I perform this operation with .

Now you just need to wait for the process to complete. All resulting files will be located in the Backups – Apps folder. They are installed as simply as regular APK files.

How to extract APK files from Android device?

To complete this task, we will need the free ES Explorer application, which can be found on Google Play. Why this particular conductor? It's simple, it's an excellent and easy-to-use file manager and it already has an integrated application backup feature. Using this function, you can extract the desired APK files from Android devices.

Method 1. So, you have installed “ES Explorer”, now let’s launch it:

Figure 1

We go to the application menu to do this, press the button we indicated in the upper left corner of the device screen. Expand the “Libraries” section and click APPs.

Figure 2

If you did everything correctly, a window with installed user applications will open in front of you. Next, select the application you want to extract and press the button Reserve at the bottom of the screen.

Figure 3 Figure 4

All extracted applications are located in the folder « Phone memory/backups/apps". You may have noticed that in Figures 3 and 4 some files are highlighted in red or green, so here you go: applications that were previously backed up and are located in the folder are marked in green apps , and in red - applications that were also extracted earlier but deleted from the folder apps (only extracted files are deleted, not installed ones). That's basically all there is to extraction using this method.

Figure 5

Now you can do whatever you want with these files: download them to your computer, send them to a friend via Bluetooth or email. Let us remind you once again that this method only backs up those applications that were installed by the user, but not system ones. To backup system applications, use method 2.

Method 2. We launch the same “ES Explorer”. At the top of the screen there is a selection of memory sections (Figure 6) or go to the “Local storage” menu (Figure 7) and select the item /Device .

Figure 6 Figure 7

Next you need to go to system/app . Here are all the applications that are installed on the device: both user and system. Then we look for the required APK file and copy it to the desired folder. Thus, you will receive a ready-made APK file for installation on other gadgets.

Warning! For both methods you may have to. It is quite possible that some extracted system APK files may not install on other Android devices due to the fact that they are designed for a specific firmware.
