Everyone knows the key combinations - “Ctrl + C” and “Ctrl + V”, this is nothing more than copy and paste. But with this combination “Ctrl+C” we can copy information only once, i.e. the next time you copy, the previous information is deleted and new information is written in its place. Imagine having to use the same words over and over again. You need to go back and copy them again. But this takes time. It would be nice to save all the copied words once, and then just work with them. This is exactly what the CLCL program serves for these purposes.

Where to download and how to install the CLCL program?

Let me not point my fingers, but point to real example how this program works. First, download this program from the developer’s website http://www.nakka.com. Download the Russian version of the program - clcl112_rus.zip. It weighs only 146 kb.

To install, unpack the archive to some place on local disk. You can then rename the folder to CLCL so you can quickly find it later. Open the folder with the program files. Among the files you will find this icon (see screenshot below).

You can double-click to launch this program. But it's better to create a shortcut for it first. Click right click mouse and context menu select Send -> Desktop (create shortcut). A shortcut will appear on our desktop. Now this program can be launched from the desktop. As you can see, the program works without installation.

How to work with the CLCL program?

After we have added the program to startup, you can launch it directly from there, or open the folder with the program and launch it by double-clicking on the paperclip icon. After this, a small paperclip icon will appear in your tray (where the clock is). This means that the program is running and you can work with it.

Double-click the left mouse button on the paper clip and open the program window. It is very simple, there are not many settings. You can go through the settings (menu Tools -> Settings), but I don’t touch them, I’m happy with the default ones.

So, let's copy something to the clipboard, some phrase. I copied the phrase " any phrase", now in the program on the left side we click on the plus sign on the "Journal" item, the magazine will open and our copied word will appear to us. If you select the “Journal” item, then a list of all words copied to the buffer in descending order will open on the right side of the window, i.e. the most recently copied ones will be at the top. Let's copy something else, for example, a paragraph of text. I copied the paragraph above. Now notice that we have added one more word to the list.

Now imagine, you are working, you are copying and pasting something and you need to insert some word or phrase that you copied earlier. There is nothing easier than to find given word and paste. To do this, press the key combination “Alt + C” and the log of our saves will open in the form of a menu. IN this menu We find our word or phrase and insert it. You can use the up or down keys on your keyboard and press Enter, or you can left-click to select the word you want. This is how this program simply remembers the copied words into the buffer.

Now imagine that you have information that you have copied to a clipboard that you need to work with frequently, i.e. periodically it is necessary to pull it out and insert it. In order not to search for a long time in the magazine menu (and the list can be large), the program developers came up with such an item as “Samples”. It's like a list of favorite words. It's easy to add a word there. We open our program window, right-click on any word in the magazine and select “Add to samples...” in the context menu, or, having selected the word, you can use the key combination “Ctrl + R”. Now our word is in the patterns. Next, in order not to search for a given word in the magazine for a long time, we press the same key combination “Alt + C” and point to the “Samples” item in the menu and select the sample we need from the drop-down menu.

It should be noted that from the saved buffer we can extract not only text, but also pictures. I copied the picture to the clipboard and look what appeared in my journal.

In addition to text, the magazine also contains a picture. Great, really. On the left side of the program, if we double-click, we can open our picture. You can also add a picture to the samples.

What else can we do with the data we have on our clipboard? We can save them. To do this, right-click on the right word and in the context menu select “Save As” or select the word and press the key combination “Ctrl + S”. Text data is saved in .txt format. We can also save the picture that is on the clipboard - select it and press “Ctrl + S”.

We can delete words we don’t need – select them, right-click and select delete.

Problems with encoding in CLCL

It happens that the previous copied text in Cyrillic is output from the buffer strange symbols, something like - ???????. To solve this problem, you need to install a plugin that sets the correct encoding for texts in the buffer. The plugin can be downloaded from the author’s website, on the same page from where we downloaded CLCL. We go down to " Plugins" and download the plugin " fmt_unicode version 0.0.1". Unpack the plugin into the program folder. Have you ever found yourself constantly needing to copy and paste values? I know what happened. But the thing is that the clipboard can only remember one action, and sometimes you need to copy and paste completely different values.

Yes, it becomes very inconvenient, since you have to constantly switch back and forth. But there is still a way out of this situation. And thanks to what I’m going to tell you today, you can really make your work on computers easier. Namely, I will tell you, dear friends, how to make several clipboards so as not to run back and forth.

One of the most best programs in this regard, naturally in my opinion, this is an application called Ditto. So let's not drag the cat by the rubber band and download it from official website. It is not difficult to install, so I think there is no point in discussing this point.

You should see a blue circle appear in your tray. This is our program. And when we click on this icon, a window will open. It is still empty, but all your copied things will be stored there. But before working with the buffer itself, let's go through the settings. To do this, click on the icon of three vertical dots and select "Options".

In principle, you don’t need to touch anything in the “General” tab, since everything is configured fine there. But the only thing is, you can put an arbitrary one “Maximum objects to save” is smaller. I don't think you'll ever need 500 memorized copy-pastes. And you can also set a deadline after which these entries will be deleted. By default, the checkbox is unchecked. And if you want the program not to run after Windows boot, then also check the box in the right place.

But due to the fact that there are about 90 such cards that need to be registered, you have to perform a lot of routine, repetitive actions. And thanks to this program, you can simply copy these three positions and easily paste. In general, why am I telling everything? Let me show you.

For the sake of example, I will create an Excel document and write the three above positions there. And in a text document I will write the values ​​that I must insert. See as shown in the picture below.

Now I will copy each value one by one from text document, i.e. First, I’ll select the first line and press CTRL+C, then the second, and then the third. There is no need to insert anything yet. After that, open the ditto program in the notification area. Do you see? Now you have these three values ​​entered into it. And you can use them, and in two ways.

Manual method

This method means that you will paste the values ​​directly from the window. For ease of use of this method, I recommend (when ditto is open) to press the key combination CTRL+Space. Then the window with the program will be fixed and you will not have to constantly call it again.

Now go to the document and stand in the first cell (organization name). And click on the first value twice in the program window, and then go to the desired cell and click CTRL+V. Do you see? It landed where it should. Now double-click on the second value in the window and click again CTRL+V, previously being in the second cell. Hop, and the phone was inserted. We do the same in the third case.

Hotkeys

This method is much faster and more convenient, and I prefer to use it, unless of course there are few values. And as you remember, we hammered in hot keys. This is exactly what we will use.

Stand in the first cell where the name of the organization is and click CTRL+1, or whatever you typed in as a combination. Now stand on the second cell and press CTRL+2. This will insert the second position. Well, as you already understood, we repeat exactly the same with the third position.

Other uses

You can type in a whole database of necessary inserts, and run the program only when it is needed, so that garbage copies are not embedded.

For example, you can store your numbers electronic wallets and insert them when necessary. Or store yours mailboxes and also use this insert when needed. As you can see, there are a whole bunch of possibilities. Only then do not forget to uncheck the box in the parameters where it says “Maximum storage period.”
