In terms of specifications, the older Desire is not inferior to the flagship HTC One M8. The smartphone is equipped with a 5.2-inch screen with Full HD resolution, and the device is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 8974AA processor, which has four Krait 400 cores at 2.26 GHz and Adreno 330 graphics at 450 MHz. The most notable feature of the smartphone is two 13-megapixel cameras - with f / 2.0 aperture on the back and f / 2.2 on the front, both with LED flashes (according to unconfirmed reports, using Sony BSI CMOS sensors). The rear camera is proposed to be used in a standard way - for normal photography (its focal length is 28 mm in 35 mm equivalent), while the front camera is intended primarily for selfies and video calls (it is wider - 22 mm).

HTC has also added several additional features, including a timer triggering the front camera, voice control (just say the word “photo” or “smile” to shoot) and parallel photography on two cameras (the image from the front camera is embedded in the photo taken on the main ).

A lot of interesting possibilities are available when working with video. So, HTC Desire Eye is capable of combining videos taken with the main and front cameras. For example, the left half of the screen may be occupied by video recorded with the main camera, and the right half by the face of the person who recorded this video. Note that it is not necessary to shoot both videos at the same time: you can first record the video on the main camera, and then, if you want, add video from the front camera.

For video calls, a framing option is available, when the smartphone recognizes the face and only shows it to the interlocutor, cutting out everything else. Among the additional features of the camera, it is also worth mentioning face morphing (smooth transformation of one face into another, as in the famous clip of Michael Jackson) and real-time digital makeup.

As accessories for HTC Desire Eye, covers of two types will be available - with a folding angle, which will allow placing the phone on a table at an angle, and branded DOT VIEW. Let us remind you that the latter are cases with a hinged perforated cover that allows you to display information on the phone screen even when the cover is closed.

On the market Desire Eye, according to unconfirmed reports, should appear in November this year. When asked about the cost, HTC representatives did not give exact numbers, but answered that the price of HTC Desire Eye will definitely be more than 20 thousand rubles and definitely less than 30 thousand.
