History of phones with two cameras. History of Dual Camera Phones Htc Dual Camera Phone

HTC emphasizes that Desire Eye is the first device of the Desire family without a numerical index in the name for the last couple of years, which symbolizes some radical changes in the company's approach to creating phones. They can be traced especially in the design of the smartphone: firstly, its body is made of plastic, which is not typical for a Taiwanese manufacturer, and secondly, it is protected from water according to the IPx7 standard, that is, it can withstand not too long immersion at a shallow depth. Interestingly, HTC does not disclose the value of "x" in the IPx7 formula, claiming that the smartphone is not dustproof. Also, of the design features, it is worth noting the use of HTC Boom Sound stereo speakers, which are hidden behind thin grids above and below the display, as well as the presence of a hardware camera button, which is also not very typical for devices from the Taiwanese company.

In terms of specifications, the older Desire is not inferior to the flagship HTC One M8. The smartphone is equipped with a 5.2-inch screen with Full HD resolution, and the device is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 8974AA processor, which has four Krait 400 cores at 2.26 GHz and Adreno 330 graphics at 450 MHz. RAM in the smartphone 2 GB, flash memory - 32 GB. The user has the option of expanding the storage capacity by using microSD memory cards. The battery capacity is 2600 mAh (9.88 Wh, 3.8 V). The smartphone is capable of operating in LTE networks, however, we do not have accurate information about the maximum speeds and the range of supported bands.

The most notable feature of the smartphone is two 13-megapixel cameras - with f / 2.0 aperture on the back and f / 2.2 on the front, both with LED flashes (according to unconfirmed reports, using Sony BSI CMOS sensors). The rear camera is proposed to be used in a standard way - for normal photography (its focal length is 28 mm in 35 mm equivalent), while the front camera is intended primarily for selfies and video calls (it is wider - 22 mm).

HTC has also added several additional features, including a timer triggering the front camera, voice control (just say the word “photo” or “smile” to shoot) and parallel photography on two cameras (the image from the front camera is embedded in the photo taken on the main ).

A lot of interesting possibilities are available when working with video. So, HTC Desire Eye is capable of combining videos taken with the main and front cameras. For example, the left half of the screen may be occupied by video recorded with the main camera, and the right half by the face of the person who recorded this video. Note that it is not necessary to shoot both videos at the same time: you can first record the video on the main camera, and then, if you want, add video from the front camera.

For video calls, a framing option is available, when the smartphone recognizes the face and only shows it to the interlocutor, cutting out everything else. This can be convenient if, during a video call, you do not hold your smartphone straight in front of you, but place it, for example, on a table at some distance from you, as a result of which the wide-angle camera lens captures not only your face, but also the environment around you.

Desire Eye has a proprietary HTC Zoe function that allows you to take photos and videos at the same time. Now, when shooting from multiple angles, Zoe can be combined into a video collage. Among the additional features of the camera, it is also worth mentioning face morphing (smooth transformation of one face into another, as in the famous clip of Michael Jackson) and real-time digital makeup.

As accessories for HTC Desire Eye, covers of two types will be available - with a folding angle, which will allow placing the phone on a table at an angle, and branded DOT VIEW. Let us remind you that the latter are cases with a hinged perforated cover that allows you to display information on the phone screen even when the cover is closed.

On the market Desire Eye, according to unconfirmed reports, should appear in November this year. When asked about the cost, HTC representatives did not give exact numbers, but answered that the price of HTC Desire Eye will definitely be more than 20 thousand rubles and definitely less than 30 thousand.

Quite often it turns out that the know-how of modern phones is a well-forgotten past. This was the case with fingerprint sensors, and with the release of the iPhone 7 Plus, dual cameras may return.

Apple's smartphone is far from the first to have such a solution. The first phone with two cameras came out in 2007 - then the iPhone didn't even support apps and 3G. The Engadget site in its material is all devices from the past that had two cameras.

Samsung SCH-B710

The first phone had two cameras in order to shoot 3D content. Samsung SCH-B710 was released in April 2007 and had a pair of 1.3 megapixel sensors. Its 2.2-inch screen with a resolution of 320x240 pixels used parallax to display three-dimensional content. Plus, you could watch local terrestrial television on the gadget.

LG Optimus 3D

The next dual camera phone came out many years later - in 2011. It was the LG Optimus 3D, which was the first Android smartphone with a 3D camera. The latter had five megapixels per lens and recorded 720p video. The Optimus 3D screen also showed stereo content at a diagonal of 4.3 inches with a resolution of 480x800 pixels.

HTC EVO 3D

The EVO 3D gadget from 2011 was actually an improved version of the LG Optimus 3D. It had a 4.3-inch screen with 960x540 pixels, a powerful Snapdragon chipset. But the cameras were the same, along with 720p 3D video recording.

Sharp Aquos Phone SH-12C / SH-80F

The same 2011, the Sharp Aquos Phone SH-12C (international designation SH-80F) was released. It was an Android smartphone with 8 megapixel cameras. The display of the device was 4.2 inches with a resolution of 540x960 pixels.

HTC One M8

The next device came out in 2014 - it was HTC One M8, which received a new type of dual cameras with the marketing name Duo Camera. The main sensor had a 4-megapixel HTC UltraPixel matrix, and it was assisted by a 2-megapixel sensor, thanks to which the autofocus of the device worked faster. In addition, the M8 offered a set of post-shoot effects based on two cameras.

Huawei Honor 6 Plus

At the end of 2014, Huawei released a dual-camera phone. The Honor 6 Plus had two 8-megapixel sensors, which Huawei said together produced 13-megapixel images. In the Honor 6 Plus, in addition to improving the quality of images, the two cameras also made it possible to accelerate autofocus and get additional image processing effects.

HTC One M9 +

In 2015, HTC released the M9 +. In it, the dual camera Duo Camera no longer had an UltraPixel sensor, but used a 20-megapixel matrix from Toshiba. A little later, in the M9 + Supreme Camera Edition, the sensor was replaced with a 21-megapixel Sony sensor.

LG V10

In late 2015, LG released the flagship V10. He took a new approach: the cameras had different lenses. One was a standard 80 degree lens and the other was a 120 degree wide angle lens.

CAT S60

Released in February 2016, the CAT S60 gadget has two cameras and perfectly photographs both during the day and in complete darkness. This is because one of his cameras is a thermal imager. He does not need ordinary light - he "sees" the warmth of objects. True, you had to pay for this - the phone costs $ 599.

Lenovo Phab 2 Pro

Lenovo Phab 2 Pro hasn't gone on sale yet. But it should be the first smartphone to have Google Tango 3D vision technology. It allows you to scan objects and get their virtual models, and also expands the possibilities of augmented reality.

Perhaps we forgot to mention some smartphones with two cameras. Write about them in the comments.

Competition among smartphone manufacturers is becoming more serious every year, so buyers are often at a loss as to who should be trusted more. Many people prefer not to experiment and buy gadgets from trusted companies. One of these is the Taiwanese company HTC. Its lineup is quite diverse, so it is rather difficult for buyers to decide which device to choose from the presented manufacturer for everyday use. However, our rating of HTC smartphones, which are most worthy of attention, will help to facilitate the difficult choice.

Best inexpensive HTC smartphones

HTC manufactures devices of all price ranges, so even lovers of budget electronics should pay attention to the lineup of the Asian company. Smartphones in this segment attract attention with good build quality and reliability, while the cost of smartphones within 10,000 rubles sometimes becomes a pleasant surprise for buyers, since at first glance, gadgets seem much more expensive. In addition to the basic functionality, phones are equipped with some additional functions that are often found only in higher-end models.

1.HTC Desire 530

Among the "state employees" of the Taiwanese company, the inexpensive but good smartphone Desire 530 stands out qualitatively. The stylish and neat model in a polycarbonate case attracts, first of all, with its pleasant design and a bright 5-inch screen with Super LCD technology and HD-resolution. Despite the fact that budget smartphones usually operate on small ranges of network coverage, the phone in question works well with 3G and 4G, as well as LTE-A up to Cat-4. The rear camera, which is equipped with an F / 2.4 aperture with an 8 megapixel matrix, also performs well, which allows you to take good-quality photos in daylight. The internal memory of the Desire 530 is quite small - 16 GB, but an additional microSD slot allows you to use memory cards up to 2 TB.

Advantages:

  • excellent 2200 mAh lithium polymer battery;
  • clear high-quality sound of the speaker and headphones;
  • original design;
  • bright and color-rich display;
  • NFC support (the ability to make contactless payments via Android Pay);
  • low price.

Disadvantages:

  • weak hardware: Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chip and 1.5 GB of RAM;
  • support for only one SIM card.

2.HTC Desire 650

The most popular budget mobile phone Desire 650 has received improved characteristics compared to the previous model: a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 4 cores and 2 GB of RAM. It works really fast, so when choosing an inexpensive model, it is better to buy this particular smartphone, spending a couple of thousand more, but at the same time getting a qualitatively new level of performance. Externally, the device is also very attractive due to the stylish body with rounded corners and a pleasant 5-inch HD-screen covered with Gorilla Glass. The rear camera of the device shows itself much better: judging by the reviews of the owners of the smartphone, 13-megapixel optics with an aperture of f / 2.2 are capable of excellent shooting not only during the day, but also at night. It is worth commenting well on the quality of the device's connection: support for 4G LTE-A Cat.4 networks allows you to always stay connected and use mobile Internet at an amazing speed.

Advantages:

  • excellent smooth operation of the system;
  • microSD support up to 2 TB;
  • original approach to design;
  • lithium polymer battery 2200 mAh;
  • excellent build quality.

Disadvantages:

  • support for only one SIM card;
  • under load, it heats up noticeably.

The best HTC smartphones with a good camera

Decent optics on mobile devices in modern society are valued no less than long battery life. Not all manufacturers manage to equip smartphones with really powerful cameras, since the number of megapixels in the matrix is not the main indicator of the quality of shooting. Naturally, the price of phones with good optics is noticeably higher, but buying a separate camera will cost more, and it is far from always practical to carry an additional device with you. Fortunately, there are a couple of gadget spots in the HTC smartphone rankings that give owners the best possible photography experience.

1.HTC Desire 10 Pro

Desire 10 Pro is destined to become the first TOP-smartphone in the review. A year ago, when announcing a new product, the developers paid special attention to the detailed optics of the phone, which is capable of taking excellent photos in almost any conditions. Indeed, the main camera received a 20 megapixel matrix, laser autofocus and f / 2.2 aperture, due to which neither night time nor bad weather can prevent the user from taking a couple of excellent high-quality pictures. The engineers of HTC were pleasantly surprised in terms of acoustics: both speakers of the smartphone stand out with good sound, and in the headphones, there is no need to complain about the sound of audio and video files. In many IT forums, high marks were given to the phone's performance: the 8-core Helio P10 chip from MediaTek and 4 GB RAM made the gadget incredibly fast. The users are especially pleased with the fact that you can buy a smartphone with the characteristics of a flagship for less than 19,000 rubles.

Advantages:

  • rich 5.5-inch Full HD-screen;
  • support for 2 SIM cards, 4G LTE-A Cat-6 communication standard;
  • Tempered Gorilla Glass;
  • price - functionality ratio;
  • the ability to expand the memory of SD cards;
  • gorgeous 13 megapixel front camera.

2.HTC One M9 Plus

A couple of years ago, this gadget was considered one of the best phones from HTC, because a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a metal case and a fingerprint scanner on the front panel in one bottle were a very non-trivial set. Now the cost of a smartphone has decreased by almost 2 times, thanks to which the ratio of price and quality of a smartphone has become insanely attractive. Indeed, it is almost impossible to buy a top-end phone for 18,000 rubles. In addition to the interesting design, the device is distinguished by fantastic dual optics with matrices of 20 megapixels (main sensor) and 2.1 megapixels (scene depth sensor). Such a phone can easily replace a real professional camera. It is worth noting a good 4 megapixel front camera with Ultrapixel technology, which captures every detail of the face.

Advantages:

  • high performance: 8-core Helio X10 Turbo chip and 3 GB of RAM;
  • microSD slot up to 2 TB;
  • protective Gorilla Glass;
  • reliability in work;
  • assembly at the highest level;
  • excellent work of the 4G LTE communication module.

Disadvantages:

  • relatively thick body;
  • batteries at 2840 mAh, not enough for such a screen resolution.

The best HTC smartphones with dual sim cards

If you analyze the market based on customer reviews of smartphones, you can make a kind of model of the ideal device. In addition to top-end technical characteristics, excellent optics and attractive design, a smartphone should have connectors for two SIM cards, since in modern society every second person has at least two mobile numbers. For a long time, HTC was a little dismissive of the trend of switching to two SIM card slots, but eventually succumbed to "fashion", as a result of which we got great flagships, which are not only pleasant to use, but also practical.

1. HTC U11

Currently, the best phone from HTC is the U11. This is a real grand smartphone market. The manufacturer has offered a 5.5-inch display with Super LCD 5 technology and Quad HD resolution, thanks to which every pixel appears incredibly rich and bright. The latest model of tempered Gorilla Glass, IP67 protection and a reliable sturdy body make the smartphone almost invulnerable to all kinds of damage and malfunctions. The performance of this powerful smartphone seems limitless: the 8-core Snapdragon 835 processor and an incredible 6 GB of RAM leave no chance for even the most demanding applications. And, of course, one cannot ignore the main innovation from HTC that made the U11 model unique: Edge Sense technology allows you to control the phone through the compression of the case, setting different functions for each pressure level. No other gadget in the world can boast of such an option.

Advantages:

  • 12 megapixel camera with optical stabilization and F / 1.7 aperture;
  • front optics 16 Mp;
  • built-in memory for 128 GB;
  • two SIM cards with VoLTE support;
  • fast charging function;
  • Sensor Hub tracker module for tracking physical activity.

Disadvantages:

  • absent.

2.HTC U Ultra

Smartphone U Ultra with a large screen of 5.7 inches is known not only for performance and functionality, but also for the presence of an additional display of 2.05 inches. Everything is clear with the main screen: Quad HD resolution, Super LCD 5 technology, amazing image. But what is the small screen at the top of the smartphone for? In fact, its purpose can be completely different: notification bar, quick access bar, player, weather widget and much more. Without taking away the useful space of the main screen, the additional one makes the smartphone more practical. But not only two displays are the advantages of the device. The phone received excellent rear optics of 12 megapixels with laser autofocus and F / 1.8 aperture and no less decent front one of 16 megapixels. Both SIM cards can work on VoLTE bands.

Advantages:

  • good performance: Snapdragon 821 chip with 4 cores and 4 GB of RAM;
  • mechanical button, fingerprint scanner;
  • Sensor Hub tracker module;
  • great sound;
  • stylish modern design;
  • system speed;
  • USB Type-C port, support for fast charging.

Disadvantages:

  • Mediocre 3,000mAh battery
  • no classic headphone jack (wireless only).

3. HTC U Play

The next high-quality smartphone is somewhat inferior in characteristics to the previous models, but this does not make it less attractive. On the contrary, a price reduction to 18,000-19,000 rubles attracts much more buyers, because flagships in the middle price range are rare guests. The design of the device did not become innovative, but the image quality did not suffer from this: the Full HD format and 5.2 inches with Super LCD demonstrate an excellent combination of brightness and saturation of the photo. The classic body of the smartphone received a mechanical button with a fingerprint scanner and tempered glass, so there are no questions about the appearance of the U Play. The performance has become almost imperceptibly lower: the 8-core Helio P10 chip can hardly be called weak or average, and 4 GB of RAM with a margin is enough for serious workload and multitasking. Both SIM card slots do not work with VoLTE, but LTE-A Cat-6 support is more than enough for a comfortable network experience.

Advantages:

  • front optics 16 Mp;
  • very fast operation of the fingerprint scanner;
  • reliable sturdy case;
  • USB Type-C port, support for fast charging;
  • built-in memory 64 GB, slot for microSD up to 2 TB;

Disadvantages:

  • weak 2500 mAh battery (autonomy a little less than a day);
  • no standard audio jack.

Which HTC smartphone to buy

Popular and highly promoted brands are by no means a guarantee that their lineup is replete with high-quality novelties. Of course, the number of gadgets of the Taiwanese company cannot compete with those of Apple and Samsung. However, choosing the best smartphone from the HTC brand can be quite tricky, since the company has more than enough decent electronics. The buyer can be sure of the quality and reliability of the offered phones. The only thing that needs to be chosen is the appropriate design and characteristics for your own needs.

How can smartphone manufacturers surprise modern users? Technologies do not stand still, giving rise to new opportunities and thereby shaping fresh trends. New dual main camera has become an increasingly popular feature smartphones. Back in the summer of last year, devices with such an opportunity were rare, but now many well-known Chinese companies produce smartphones with two cameras. Let's dwell on the best of them.

Any normal user should ask, and why does a smartphone need two cameras, and is this not an advertising gimmick of manufacturers? The thing is that companies are gradually coming to the conclusion that cameras in smartphones are already difficult to improve: neither increasing the size of the sensor, nor changing other parameters lead to significant progress in the quality of the resulting photos. The only way out is to increase the size of the camera, but then the phone will become much larger, so it is unlikely to find wide popularity among users.

The solution lay on the surface - equip the gadget with a second main camera. Since the technology is not yet widespread, manufacturers assign different functions to the additional module, but all solutions are aimed at improving the quality of the photo. With the help of a dual camera, you can take pictures with different exposure parameters and, by superimposing them, get a high-quality photo. The second camera can be used for full optical zoom, and not digital, which is used in the vast majority of smartphones. With an additional camera, you can change focus on finished shots, create blurred background. In some models, the second camera creates a black and white image, so the shooting process is fast and the photo quality is great.

Now let's take a look at what the modern market has to offer us and take a look at the best dual-camera smartphones of 2017.

The smartphone is equipped with color camera at 20 megapixels and black and white at 12 megapixels fromLeica... The principle of their work is as follows: the monochrome module takes a picture, while capturing as much light as possible, and thanks to the work of the color module, the resulting picture is then colored, allowing you to get a high-quality picture. The camera works well, autofocus works quickly, the picture is very high quality, there are ample opportunities for manual adjustment of shooting parameters. The front camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels.

The rest of the characteristics of the novelty are also amazing. The gadget received a metal case and 5.5-inch curved display with 2560 * 1440 resolution made by technology AMOLED... Responsible for performance 8-core processor whose cores operate at a frequency 2.4 and 1.8 GHz... Stock RAM 4 and 6 GB in different versions, the main one is 64 and 128 GB, respectively. The gadget received a fingerprint scanner, IrDA, 4000 mAh battery and fast charging function. Delight, not apparatus! Prices start at $ 760.

LG V20

Oukitel U20 Plus

it cheapest dual camera smartphone, but at the same time it is of high quality and functional. It costs only $ 88 and proves to users around the world that a dual camera and the ability to take high-quality photos is not only an opportunity for flagships. For a ridiculous price, you can get not just a productive device, but also a pretty one. In its design, you can notice something in common with the latest iPhones, and metal case together with 2.5D-glass makes a lasting impression.

The most affordable dual camera smartphone got a 13-megapixel module fromSonyinterpolated up to 16MP and optional VGA camera... Photos get excellent detail, and it also becomes possible to take pictures with a blurred background. The front camera received a resolution of 5 megapixels, screen with resolutionFullHDand a diagonal of 5.5 inches is distinguished by the presence of a protective glass... Uses a 4-core processor with a frequency of 1.5 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of main memory... There is a fingerprint scanner, two SIM card slots, 4G support, battery capacity 3300 mAh... This smartphone is worth taking even for those who do not make a prerequisite for the presence of a dual camera - the model is good in all respects and perfectly balanced in terms of price and quality ratio.
