    There is no point in switching to the extended version of iA Writer Pro, since the developers are still not added it includes support for the Russian language. For this reason, almost all the unique features of the Pro version do not work correctly.

    Probably, iA Writer can be safely called the simplest and most user-friendly text editor that is not expensive, and also has synchronization via iCloud or Dropbox.

    Byword

    In many ways, this application for working with text is reminiscent of iA Writer, but it has a number of very significant and fundamental differences. First of all, it is necessary to note the flat design in the style of iOS 8, but for unknown reasons the developers did not bother to make the icon in a minimalist style - it does not look beautiful, to put it mildly.

    IN Byword There is the ability to synchronize data via iCloud and Dropbox. The application can store documents on the flash memory of iPhone and iPad, which can be extremely useful if there is no Internet access.     Ulysses

    The Ulysses interface is radically different from that of iA Writer and Byword. The developers decided to move away from the usual scheme for storing files in iCloud Drive, and “robbed” users of the opportunity to fully manage their records.     Due to the fact that Ulysses does not have direct access to iCloud Drive storage, navigating the program is much more convenient and simpler than products from its main competitors. Apple tablet users have waited too long for it, they have listened to too much ridicule that their favorite device is deprived of such an important modern business tool. Frankly speaking, I was never a fan of the idea that someday I might be able to use a piece of Microsoft’s creations on my iPad, because... and on my main work PC, all their “charms” are quite enough for me. Yes, I wasn’t expecting Microsoft Office for iPad, but why should I expect it when there is a wonderful, chic and excellent one? And I have not yet begun to list the creations of third-party developers in this field! However, the fact is that Microsoft Office for iPad has appeared, so we simply have to look at it from all sides and draw conclusions about the advisability of its use. In this particular material we will look at the Word text editor.

    1. Create a new document in Microsoft Word on iPad

    Like Apple's proprietary text editor, which, by the way, is now available absolutely free for new devices, Microsoft Word offers many templates created by the company's professional designers. Their usefulness for some can be enormous, because they can save a huge amount of time, but I personally have never used anything like this - I always created a document from scratch. However, in addition to the blank document, there are the following: booklet, business letter, business newsletter, modern resume, family news, leaflet, invoice, personal letter, proposal, school newsletter, syllabus, tear-off leaflet, term paper and traditional resume. Half of the names are not familiar to me, although I am sure that I have come across many of them - perhaps the translation is incorrect, but oh well.

    Editing documents in the Redmont text editor is divided into several functional tabs, similar to the desktop version of the program. The first is called “Home Page” and contains the following main functions: changing the font, its type and size, changing the color of the text and its fill, changing the position of the text on the page, line spacing, creating numbered and regular lists, left-right indents, non-printing characters.

    While working with certain objects in documents, new tabs and new functions in tabs can (and will) appear in the main menu.

    7. Synchronization with clouds and file storage in Microsoft Word on iPad

    In addition to its internal file storage, the program only supports working with Microsoft's proprietary cloud service called OneDrive. It's a pity that there are no others, it's a pity.

    As you can see, the functional set is practically the same as that in the desktop version of the Microsoft Word text editor. By the standards of mobile systems, it is quite impressive, but not everyone needs it. Considering the fact that you can work with the same Pages for free, the cost of up to ten dollars per month (you can fully work with any application in the package only with a subscription to Office 365) of the office package from Microsoft is a little scary.

    To summarize, we would like to note that Microsoft, in our opinion, released Office not for the iPad, but for its customers who may have an iPad.
