The manufacturer, in the instruction manual that comes with this device in English, states that the watch can be used as a companion. To do this, you need to install the FunFit program on your Android phone. The easiest way is to scan the QR code from the instructions, it contains a link to the program that was posted on the Play Market. There is one BUT. As of 09/12/2017, this program crashes when launched by many smartphone owners, including me. I have Android 7 installed on my smart, and there are rumors that this is very cool for this program! ... I tried a bunch of options for connecting these two universes - large and small devices on a bucket, none of them worked fine. There is one solution, but I will say right away - these are crutches. I will not describe here what needs to be done, I will just throw a link, there are the necessary programs. This option did not suit me, I could not make this watch a companion to my smartphone.

But on the other hand, as a separate device, these smart watches are very good!

First of all, I connected them to my WI-FI network. It was difficult even for me to type the password on such a small keyboard, although I have small hands. Since a full-fledged Android is installed on this watch, you can install programs from the Play Market on it. In the end, such necessary programs in everyday life as WhatApp (preinstalled, but most likely will have to be updated), Youtube, Ya.

However, it is worth paying special attention to the fact that some programs will not be so easy to install, since they are not designed for such a small screen. For example, WhatApp was able to install immediately, even agree to the required permissions, but there were problems with agreeing to the terms of service. The reason was that the "Agree" button got out of the screen. The Big Font Widget by Harald Weber, which changes system fonts, helped. Prompted here. There were problems with other programs, it was impossible to even establish them, since it was not possible to agree with the requirements of the program to allow it at least something to work. It was solved with the same program. By the way, after all, the font sizes should be returned, otherwise you will have to buy a microscope as well.

Now, as promised, about the battery. The fact is that I connected with Tele2, which in Default-city only works in 3G / 4G networks. When I switched the network operating mode in hours to 2G, the network naturally turned off, but this led to the fact that the clock worked for a full 2 ​​days and a little more. True, as soon as the automatic selection of the 2G / 3G network mode was connected, the operating time was sharply reduced to less than 1 day with the data transmission turned off.

This phone requires a Nano-format SIM-card, now this is not a problem, modern SIM-cards are "nesting dolls". The old SIM can also be cut, but old cards can be problems, and it is possible that the SIM card will have to be exchanged in the nearest communication salon.

I tried the watch as a phone, spoke through a Bluetooth headset. I want to say that the quality of the connection is good, I did not have any problems or complaints. The watch does not have a headphone jack, so without a headset you will talk during the clock, and the whole street will suddenly hear your interlocutor. True ... A strange feeling will prevail that you are talking with a watch))))))

And yes, you cannot insert a memory card here, this watch does not provide a separate slot for it, although it is en masse in a cheap watch from AliExpress for 600 rubles.

Hypothetically, this unit can also be used as a mobile access point. That's just how many minutes it will live without recharging)))).

Greetings to respected Muscovites, today I am glad to present to your attention an overview of the GT08 SmartWatch device, which is a smart watch with a phone function (i.e. a watch phone). For those interested - under cat.

So, smart watch. Nowadays, this is a very fashionable gadget, along with fitness bracelets and other similar things that you can wear on yourself and somehow track your condition and activity. Smart watches also allow you to see what came to the phone, without taking it out of your pocket, but just looking at your wrist (and with today's fashion (damn it) for "shovelphones" it becomes even more relevant).

I will demonstrate the set of the device:

The kit is rather poor, there was no box, but this was announced by the seller, everything came in one piece. However, the only thing missing is a charger, but often the owner of a smartphone buys such a gadget, and he has something to charge. You can also find fault with the fact that there is no headset, but one will cost at least a quarter of the price of the device.

The clock itself:

In front we see the screen and the camera peephole, the cover is glass. I can't say anything more precisely about "more precise", but all sorts of "gorillaglases" did not seem to have promised. There was also a protective film, but I took it off.

On the right is just the power / back / lock button, stylized as a scroll wheel, but this is only a decorative function.

On the left is a plug, stylized as a button, under it is a microUSB connector, under it is a speaker, above it (near the bracelet itself) is a microphone hole.

Ease of use, build quality, fastening reliability.
Regarding these watches, I had doubts about the reliability of their fastening (fixing the strap), for here the "mechanism" is simple as a stool. Nevertheless, when I put them on, I realized that I was mistaken, the watch sits on my hand as if glued. There were no questions regarding the assembly and materials, everything looks very nice, and is made of good materials: the front is glass, the "frame" of the structure is metal, the cover and insides are made of plastic, and the strap is made of rubber. The strap holder, by the way, is also metal. The watch, of course, is not the smallest, I think it will be very noticeable on a woman's hand, but on a man's - it looks more than appropriate, especially in a strict color design. However, the watch is made with a likeness to Apple "ovskie, and it seems to be in compliance with the size.

It uses a 1.54 "matrix, with a resolution of 240x240, it feels like IPS, since the viewing angles are about 180 degrees. In addition, I have the impression that the so-called mirror substrate of the screen is used, with which it illuminates itself with reflected light, since even on a sunny day, under the direct rays of the sun, the image remained clearly distinguishable even at the minimum brightness, although it is likely that there is simply a high minimum brightness. it's not scary.

Speaker, microphone.

I expected that there would be a "squeaker" that would be barely audible, but as it turned out, this thing can yell, so there are no questions about the sound. The microphone is also adequate, it is quite possible to talk without bringing the watch directly to your head.

Features of the gadget.

So, let's move on to its "stuffing". When you press the power button, the screen turns on, it has a screensaver in the form of an analog clock. There are 3 options in total (although one of them does not have hands on the date dials.

With a wipe from the edge of the screen we get to the "desktop" (if not from the edge, or just tap on the screen, then we will switch the screensaver to the next one).

The desktop contains a clock (digital), a status bar (top), dialer buttons, messages, menus and contacts. The status bar displays bluetooth status, network indicator, battery indicator, icon of the current sound profile.

And there are 2 options: the sound can be played both by the clock and by the phone. But listening to music through a bluetooth headset (as I do) while using a smart watch will not work.

Also from the functions associated with pairing with a smartphone there is "anti-loss" and "find phone", as well as a program that shows all notifications received from the smartphone.
Anti-Lost is a program that allows you to configure the clock alarm about the removal of the phone at the distance of communication with it.

For the "find phone" function to work, the BT Notify program must be installed in the phone, when this function is selected in the menu, the phone, if it is in touch with the clock, starts ringing.

For some reason, the program that displays the list of notifications is indicated in the menu with a satellite dish icon, which somewhat confuses the user.

There is also a function of broadcasting what the smartphone camera "sees" on the watch, for this, again, you need to install BT Notify. But I did not see anything sensible in this, in my opinion, it would be much more reasonable to do the opposite function - so that through the camera of the watch and using it as a headset, you could, for example, chat on Skype.

The functions related to health care are represented by a pedometer, an activity sensor and a sleep tracker.

The pedometer is very simple and unpretentious, it shows the travel time and the distance traveled. can be paused. Synchronization with the phone is not provided.

The activity sensor can be set for any desired time, select the alarm method (vibration, vibration + sound, sound, vibration + rising sound). If the function is enabled and there is no activity during this time, the watch will notify its owner after the time has elapsed that it is time to “knead the rolls”.

A sleep meter is as simple as a stool. We went to bed, turned it on, woke up, turned it off. It would seem, but the meaning? But sometimes at the end of the week, looking at the result, you can be horrified :)

Telephone functions.
In addition to a smart watch, the device is also a dialer, similar to push-button dialers, something better, something worse. So, there is a player, a voice recorder, a camera (shoots at 240x240, so there is not much sense), a file and image viewer, an alarm clock, a calendar. But they forgot to put the calculator, which is now in any self-respecting phone.

It is quite simple, it only understands mp3, ogg, in which my entire music collection was left behind. There are playlists. By default, it reads only from the "My Music" folder, but you can select yourself from other folders and add it to the playlist.

Quite simple, but it works :) Again, the microphone is enough not to speak directly into it. The recording is listened to here.

The image viewer, unlike what we are usually used to, is just a shortcut to the file manager, that is, you need to open files one at a time, there is no paging. Knows how to jpeg, png.

Calendar.
It fits the whole month, you can set reminders and all that, but in the absence of synchronization with the phone, it is not convenient to configure everything on the watch itself, since the controls are still small.

There is also a function of displaying a QR code leading to the BT Notify program, which works on a smartphone with this gadget.

There is also a simple browser, but for some reason it can only be used with a SIM card, that is, the Internet can only be obtained from it, and here the restriction is GPRS, so given this and a small screen, I think this function does not really have that meaning. Although, if it were possible to receive the Internet from a smartphone via Bluetooth, it would still be "usable".

As for telephone functions, you can make calls from the device (without connecting a smartphone, insert a SIM card into the watch), write SMS, and generally use it as a dialer (except perhaps without a calculator and video). At the same time, you can talk both through the "speakerphone" - through the speaker and microphone of the watch, and through a bluetooth headset, however, you will not be able to send music from the player to the headset. You can customize your ringtones for calls and messages from the list of suggested ones, as well as from your music on the memory card (for calls from a smartphone, this will also work).
So, in addition to smart watches, it is quite possible to use the device as a watch phone, which, moreover, will have the functions of a pedometer, an activity sensor and a sleep meter, which is not found on ordinary watch phones, and android watch phones are very expensive.

There is a scheduled on / off function, like on phones and smartphones on MediaTek (well, here is also MediaTek).

It is possible to select in the program which applications can send notifications to the watch (including system ones), as well as to choose whether calls will be sent to the watch, or whether the watch will simply notify about a call (otherwise the watch works as a headset). It seems to concern messages too, but there it does not matter so much.

Autonomy.
The watch can work in the mode paired with the phone for 3-4 days, if used as a phone, with a SIM card, then 5-6 days (without using a bluetooth headset, otherwise the same 3-4 days). If you combine, up to 3 days. But, what is worth noting, the battery here is such that the charge will take 20-30 minutes from a good charge, which is very little.

Conclusions.
I liked the device, but maybe because it was my first smart watch. So, it is very convenient to watch notifications without taking the phone out of your pocket (although with my 4.7 "phone it is still not so relevant), in addition, it is a stylish accessory. Controlling the phone player from the watch is also a good idea, however, my watch“ broke "Listening to music through my bluetooth headset. Functions such as a pedometer, activity sensor and sleep meter will also be useful to many who take care of themselves, although here I would like to synchronize with a smartphone. Well," anti-loss "and" find the phone "will be appreciated many "wave-confused" (or "petit-confused").
At the same time, the device can be used as an independent gadget, which will cope with the functions of a simple phone with a bang (minus the calculator, of course), and will add the same pedometer, activity sensor, sleep meter to it.
Well, the third use case is as a "satellite" to a smartphone, which is synchronized with it, and at the same time, has its own memory and a SIM card - just working as a second phone, or a "spare dialer", for example, for those who have a phone for 1 SIM, or I had to choose between the 2nd SIM card in my smartphone and a memory card.
